I am in div.V and doing really well in the cup, even though i haven't had much competition. This weeks game is against a player with a better overall team but not way too good compared to my team. Yea he has some high salary players but i have several all-around decent players. i could play CT because i will have 12 enthusiasm for the game or i could continue playing TIE and still put a good amount of effort in it. Another thing is he might play his trainees and i would blow him away. What should i do? All help is welcomed!

With a 12 enthusiasm I would go for it with a CT.

I disagree with oriolekid. I think you have to look at the big picture instead of just making an short sighted assumption based on your current enthusiasm level. In my opinion, playing CT in the cup is better for:

-teams that will go deep in the tournament
-teams without competition within their league
-teams that are tanking intentionally
-teams that can't help but tank

In your case, I'm not sure I would want to play CT during the regular season with another team only 1 game behind me and building up a roster and playing TIE every single game. Looking at the top 5 salary players on each team, he has recently topped you. If you lose HC to him, he could wipe you out in a single game playoff elimination. Don't overlook the importance of your enthusiasm.

Also, your cup opponent already has an easy game this week vs a 7th ranked team, so it is reasonable that he may play a decent lineup against you to continue his cup run. You aren't going to go very far as a DV team, and you are already going to get a good number of balls on your fan survey. I think the risk is to great for measly 50k chump change. It is a zillion times more important for you to promote.

1) keep and eye on his minutes and how he plays his players
2) if his main starters have 70+ mins (or even 60+ mins depending how meticulous about GS he is) he'll prob field second stringers or go Coach picks from depth chart with starters as backups.
3) decide if you want to Normal or CT him

Master Blaster is right tho. you should consider

1) even if you win... how lower enthu will it affect your league games
2) if you win... you'll prob meet another stronger team... is the game reward from the cup worth losing games in League?

Thanks for the replies guys. There are a.few good teams in my league but i have some easy games after the cup game to get my enthusiasm back up. However, i have feeling he might play his starters against me because im the best team he has faced thus far in the cup. The reason i wannt to win as many games in the cup as possible is because ive been using my winnings towards building my arena to be ready when i get in div iv.

about his lineup, i would wait for his game on tuersday(i believe you like to lineup a competive cup lineup anyway?), because he watch that his player only start twice (also with competion in the cup, watch his games last season).

sounds like a low risk for me, and maybe you get some enthusiam back when the next cup game have a stronger opponent - and maybe even you have luck in the draw and you get the chanche for the third game during the allstar break which is an competive advantage through the better game shape after this week.

Is it really a third game during the all-star break? I thought the cup game just replaced the Thursday scrimmage.

I would definitely CT against him. In DV you can recover your enthusiasm quickly and probably not have to sacrifice any wins. The good news is that your opponent has 2 tough league games this week so they will probably play starters for both. The bad news is that they appear to manage their enthusiasm well so your CT enthusiasm bonus will be some what negatd if they are also at enthusiasm 11 or 12.

I think you have a good chance but you need to CT against him IMO

no you could have up to two cup games this week, the first one is on tuesday and when you lose it you could still schedule a scrimmage.

Welp...i used normal gameplay because i had an enthusiasm of 12 and i beat him. Now im facing the 19th ranked team and unless he plays his bench players i dont stand a chance lol.
