Well, Hadar...

The magic number for our game tonight is 100.

If I lose by less than 100 it will be a victory for the Serpents.

I can think of a 100 different ways your team is going to inflict pain on my boys tonight.

I will get to see if anyone in my team can manage to score 10 points or 10 rebounds against you.

Good luck...

...as I am going to need it!

PS. Maybe I will play Patient. Maybe I won't. Either way, it won't matter.

It's very likely that one of your players will score more than 10 points or have more than 10 rebounds. And it's also possible that I'll score less than 100 points.
We'll see how it goes. Good luck to you too ;)

While you most likely won't be playing for a win tonight, and while you don't (only) sound too exciting about the beginning of this long HG journey (of course also understandable), luckily it's just exactly that - a beginning, and like you well said, you're only going to get better from now on. :)
And I like your enthusiasm, that you're already giving season MVP votes for your players for each match! Also, I'm glad to see you have some very potential young players in your roster - yes, currently with big training holes (as you mentioned), but those will likely be fixed in few (3-4?) seasons' time.

As for other games of Round 5 tonight (well, this morning in The Americas, and afternoon in Europe), we're likely/potentially going to have quite many interesting ones, in terms of a close score.
There's most potential for that in:
- WAG v. SUM (Salary Ranking #8 v. SR4),
- TRO v. RAJ (SR10 v. SR6),
- LGM v. WMO (SR9 v. SR5),
- ED v. D (SR7 v. SR11), and especially
- HCH v. BUC, in which teams rated 13th and 14th in Salary Rankings will meet.

Speaking of Buckner Bandits, I finally updated your top 8 salaries to posts on both official threads - Top 8 salary for BUC is now $98K.

Good luck to everyone for Round 5 games - after this already one third of Regular Season has been played!

While I partly took your quotation out of context here in this reply, I just wanted to add, that maybe there are also other things that can be thought as a 'victory', if you so choose to. If I may mention, maybe if you could climb/get better on some statistics categories during the season, maybe that would also be considered a some kind of win.

Understandably, having a team with lowest top 8 salary, it's not easy to do well on different stats categories.
But I wanted to mention, that given fact above, you're not doing that bad on certain team stats categories:
- Forced turnovers 11,0 (8th in HGL; highest value 14,8, lowest 6,3)
- Steals 7,5 (4th!; H9,3, L2,8)
- Blocks 4,5 (10th; H9,8, L2,5)
- Steals and Blocks per Fouls committed 0,80 (8th; H1,87, L0,45).

Of course, there's still lots of work to do, but you will get there eventually... :)

Thanks, Wagner. I had noticed those stats. Let's see where things fall by the end of the 1st HGL season.

Yes, we shall see... Nevertheless, development of your team is practically inevitable, and at least those end of season-stats function as a good comparison for forthcoming seasons. Also, it will be easier for you to handle weekly minutes (and therefore game shape) with 11 player roster next season...

Yes, my GS issues are already a problem despite a Level 7 Massage Doctor. Looking forward to an 11-player roster.

On the positive side of things, running this 8-man roster is great prep as my second team, Westopian Tigers will be going 100% HG next season with 9 players. So, this is good practise.

On salaries it might not have looked like a close game, Lielupes Melnās Sirdis have absolutely jumped me in our game tonight and are giving me a workout in this first quarter. Hopefully my lads can turn it around but so far the higher salaries aren't counting for much at all.

I am without my 3rd best player against Buckners. And I forgot to set my lineup. So playing out of position for training and PF is a blank since Farmer is injured. And one of my top guards is on the bench. 13 point margin in my favor at half time, but we'll see if I can hold on.

You were able to hold on, at the end somewhat easily.
When I take a look at the match viewer, it doesn't show that starter would've been empty, as a new player for PF starting position (to replace Farmer) has been defined by GE automatically. Thank you for honestly mentioning about this though.

In general, in HGL matches it's not advisable to leave starting position empty (and like you said, this wasn't intentional) as these HGL games do not affect training.
Good thing also is, that we do not have to remember to set lineups for each match (except for playoffs!), but we can set bunch of them before match start dates are closing in. Of course then injuries can mix up the situation, but for that reason it is very much advisable to:
A) set up your HGL match lineups/tactics well ahead of match day
B) set replacements (also another player for "reserve" position, preferably another player than 1st subbed in player in your depth chart) for each position (C, PF, SF, SG, PG)
C) keep an eye on your injuries, and try to remember to set corrected lineups if (especially your key) players get injured.
D) check your "default lineup" now and then, by clicking a match tactics setup-link on your schedule page, especially if you have a team with low number of players in your roster, and/or if you have sold/fired players recently. Buzzerbeater uses your default lineup (which might eventually include too little amount of players due to injuries and/or sales/firings) if you forget to setup your lineup for the match.

These A)-D) are not pointed to any manager especially, but serve as a general refresher/reminder...

I realized I may have not mentioned about leaving starter positions empty elsewhere in rules than in this short "Injury exception/example #2":
Please note that for instance if you'd have only 5-6 players in your team and 1-3 of them are injured, it is possible/acceptable for that reason only (this exception applies only to absolutely necessary injury situations!) to dress also injured players to the starting lineup to fill all the 5 positions.
It is therefore possible to get away from this situation with only 0-50 forfeit loss, and without triggering more strict Level 3 penalty (see below, B)).

But again, to me (when I watch your match from the match viewer) it didn't show up like any of the starting positions would've been empty. Maybe you had someone set as a substituted player for PF position? I don't know if GE screws things up by calling up a Lucky Fan, if only one player is set up for all depth chart sections (opening lineup, bench and reserve) for one position (such as PF)... Does anyone have experience on this?

Anyway, good thing was you had so many players in your match lineup, that coach didn't had to call Lucky Fans to join the roster; any time that happens, it then causes a forfeit loss.
