The Krew BasketBall Club have won their first ever piece of hardware, claiming the USA IV.46 Title in a
(139841402) 100-86 victory over USA IV.46 Big 8 champions Mountaineers
(31647). The victory came after a nail biting third game, after the two teams split the first two games of the series. The Krew started off hot, jumping to an early 14 point first quarter lead. But by the end of the Third quarter, the game was tied. The fourth quarter, with key player Bruce Marlow
(56014547) in foul trouble, the team leaned on the tandem guards, with the experience of team captain Sam Marcoux
(56014551) and the deadly shooting of Cooper Begay
(56014546) Begay lead all scorers with 32 points, and really came in during the clutch, scoring 12 of those points in the fourth quarter. He also lead the Krew with 9 assists. The Krew tallied 33 total assists in the game, a key factor to their victory the coach said in a post game press conference.
With promotion in the future, The Krew will look to make some serious acquisitions during the off-season in hopes to putting out a competitive team. When asked on what positions they will be targeting, the Manager simply smirked,
"Everything. We will be looking for players on the court, as well as future staff as well. Nothing is off limits, we want to provide the fans with the best team possible. The 45 Street Arena will finish expansion construction before the start of next season, where there are talks of expanding to even more seats. When asked about the proposal, the Manager smiled and gave a cautious response.
"More fans obviously means more revenue. Also means there comes with higher expectations. A 10,000 seat arena with only 2,000 fans is a real shot to the stomach. We will take it one day at a time and see where it leads us."Up next for the Krew is much needed rest and relaxation, as the front office prepares for the Draft.
