You pretty much did all you could mate.

Make sure that you only dress the players you have selected in the Starter/backup/reserve slots. For example, If I set 10 players (2 for each position) but 1 player that has not been allocated a position meaning there is 11 players dressed but only 10 with allocated positions the coach may see fit to play this "unallocated" player if garbage time were to happen.

Hope that made sense...

While I'm sure you have your own way of playing the game and it seems to be working now, What is your plan for the future?

As I see it, Iwen was 1st in the Great 8 of the ABBL in his first season in that league. He made a ton of money and sold off all of his players including 3 Australian NT players (2 of which he trained himself) and picked up 3 Stellar 18 year old SF trainees in their place.

I think the whole crux of what I'm saying is; Iwen has tons of experience and on top of being the U21 manager for Australia, I think his advice would be warranted, especially to someone who is in your (and my) situation.

hey tills,

well make sure if you have 14 players on your roster and you only set 9 of them in position, make sure the other 5 are totally excluded from the game

for instance, i have what 15 players on my roster.

i want to get garrie training minutes at SG. i play

pg - Zahkarov,- fanez - fanez
sg - addison - addison - addison
sf - sznajder - fages - fages
pf - terroso - leong - leong
c - cornelius - phillips - phillips

i have only set 9 players to be involved. so i make sure only those 9 players are in the left column, any other players will come on as substitute should it be a blow out or foul out. Garrie Addison should then get 48 minutes. that is the best way to solve your problem.

disclaimer: i am a bit drunk as we just won a semi-final in tennis so im hoping this is accurate. it looks like it but i will review it later.

cheers hope i helped. bbmail me if you need anymore assistance

fair enough mate

honestly i dont really have any plans

i just see this as a fun internet game, and thats it really.

if i get promoted, great, if ,my players cark it cause their "too old" even better

if what he is saying is true then i will just have to deal with it mate if my team starts to break down

cheers

I Understand that winning is fun, but so is training. I have no doubt had you kept Gray, and trained 2 others alongside him, you could have sold the 3rd trainee for a lot of money and upgraded your guard positions and be in a much better position than you are now.

As it stands, your team loses value everyday.

I don't troll forums, I just like to chat to a lot of the community.

To correct Leeroy, I am now in my 3rd consecutive season in the ABBL and had I not sold my team, I'd still be in it next season. I trained my core players in the team, and I sold off those 3 alone for $10m. Those 3, two were in the NT and they all played U21.

The key is to understand how much it actually costs to buy a championship ABBL team. It's almost $15m.

You can train an ABBL standard front/back court for less than $3m these days (to buy the trainees, or you may even be gifted one...) and then spend your remaining money on the positions you are not training.

My current situation is that I love training, so I spent $5m on some rookies this season, leaving me with a balance of $9m to relegate with and promote back to the ABBL when my trainees are ready.

I think you should just plan the next few seasons. You never really took advantage of the offsite mentoring you signed up to, because the other mentors would all recommend the same as what I am saying, which is the key to our success (we're all in the ABBL).

Of course we could just keep our mouths shut and watch everybody struggle and get ripped apart if they ever promote to the ABBL, but we don't mind being knocked off our perch if it means someone who takes our place has worked hard to learn then game and understand training.

Fair enough Iwen.

Respect all of the above.

Gray would have been a beast, i know this, but i felt promotion at the time was the right thing to do.

If my team comes tumbling down, then I will blame myself

but mate, thanks for the response and honest explanation

Yep that was it. My regular starting PG was suited up but not assigned a position, came on with 14 minutes to go and never left the court.

What should i do with training this week then? My plan was to one position train PG.

Grima 48 mins PG
Ata 48 mins PG
Schanzen 35 mins PG

Team train stamina or free throws? No other positions have more than two players playing 48 minutes.
