I don't get how people are completely oblivious to Monta Ellis.
The guy was the NBA Player of the week last week.
He's #3 in PPG and #2 in Stl/G.
If you look at all the guards in that list and rank them based on the stats that should matter most to guards (FG%, 3P%, FT%, APG, SPG, TO/G, PF/G and PPG) the list is pretty different from what you people say:
The guards ranked by guard statistics (Durant, Lebron, Kobe and D-Wade all considered guards for this analysis)
1. Chris Paul
2. Steve Nash (this really surprised me)
3. Stephen Curry
4. Monta Ellis
5. Lebron James
6. Deron Williams
7. Kevin Durant
8. Derrick Rose
9. Rajon Rondo
10. Dwayne Wade
11. Kobe Bryant
12. Brandon Roy
13. Russell Westbrook
My top ten overall players will include 7 guards and 3 forwards. I will be moving Steve Nash Down and Kobe and Lebron way up, as guys like Kobe and Lebron both contribute a bit more as forwards as well.
1. Chris Paul (his team is pathetic, made up of castoffs and scrubs...Marco Bellinelli is the #3 scorer...yikes)
2. Dwight Howard
3. Lebron James
4. Kobe Bryant
5. Deron Williams
6. Monta Ellis
7. Kevin Durant
8. Amare Stoudamire
9. Kevin Love
10. Rajon Rondo (his passing, defense and leadership more than make up for his pathetic shooting)
