I think a team that keeps using man-to-man defense should not be punished.
This is one of the differences between defense tactics and offense tactics.
I think if even defense tactics also require prediction, the burden on the manager might be too heavy.
Right now, the situation is:
- You need to look at the opponent’s offense and whether they will try to avoid being predicted, to decide which defense tactic to use and whether to make a prediction.
- You need to look at the opponent’s defense and whether they will make a prediction to decide which offense tactic to use.
If even defense tactics also require prediction, it would become:
- You need to look at the opponent’s offense, whether they will try to avoid being predicted on offense, and whether they will make a prediction on defense tactics, to decide which defense tactic to use and whether to make an offense prediction.
- You need to look at the opponent’s defense, whether they will make an offense prediction, and whether they will try to avoid being predicted on defense, to decide which offense tactic to use.
