well, this goes to show that JR is very expensive for SGs. Also, sublevels probably play some role. Player C might be 1.8 levels of JR and 0.8 levels of OD better than player E, which would explain a lot of the discrepancy. Similarly, player A is perhaps only 0.2 levels better in JS and OD, and perhaps even lower on JR. Also, Passing and Handling have no influence on SG salary whatsoever, while they do kick in for PGs.

Lastly, note that Salary rises exponentially with A-skills.

I probably won't check all of them now but:

I had a look at player A:

Without sublevels his salary should be around 40600$.
If I assume very low sublevels on e.g. JS, PD, PA and Reb his salary comes down to around 30000$. Of course that's just a guess but if I had to bet, that'd be my choice.

Player C - E:

Without sublevels the salaries are:
C: 27437$ (your number: 30572$)
E: 21457$ (your number: 19542$)

Starting from player E:
- 2 levels Rebounding ~ 2500$
- 1 level Jump Range: ~ 3000$
That's already a significant difference from just 3 Ups.

Assuming that player C's Outside Defense or Jump Range has a high sublevel, only that one difference pushes his salary over 30'000.

Does this make sense?

We have both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.

Yeah, you guys are probably right that its just the sublevels. I forgot about the effect of rebounding on salary. Isn't it a little odd that rebounding bumps up salary by 2500 but passing does not raise salary at all? I forgot about that non-intuitive case with the guards in BB.

I copy pasted the salaries to the new salary calculator and player A must have really low sublevels to be stuck at that salary and player C must have really high ones on all the valued skills. I thought something like that would be unlikely which is why I asked whether there was some random factor to the salary calculation. But its certainly possible so thanks for clarifying that.

I can't login there - are the salaries very different from what you get on the downloadable calculator?

Yeah I've done that, it says there's some problem connecting to the main BB site.

There have been 5 training sessions this season...My 24 yr old C has popped 3 times already...So, yes..It can be that the players popped after the salary update

Okay so that could be a contributing factor too. Thanks for your input. I take it then that there is definitely no randomness to the salaries.
