What seems to be more useful:
Push the rebounding skills from 12/13 to 15/16 for the frontcourt or bring up the rebounding skills for the SF/ G from 1/2/3 to 5/6/7?
That´s the decision I have to make. Anyway: I need to get become more competitive in rebounding.

I think that depends on the competition in your league. If most of the other big men in the league are at 15/16, I would try to get your big men up, because they tend to see the majority of rebounds (although not always true- check out GM-Josef Ka's team when his ubercenter play pg- 20+ boards from the PG position!) Having said that, I wouldn't play a SF that had less than 8 RB and I like my guards to have at least 5.

I guess I would try to get my big guys up first, though.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

I would recommend bringing up the rebounding of your other players. Rebounding is done on a player vs. player basis. If on a given play your PG has a lower REB than the opponent, their PG has a greater chance of getting a rebound if the ball comes to them. Just because your player has the highest rebounding skill doesn't mean all rebounds will come to them. It just means they will get more of the rebounds that come their way.

At least that's how I see it. I try to get players with at least respectable rebounding and I lead my league in REBs.

Thanks Naker-Virus and GM-KOZ.

I think you both hit it right on the nail. I knew the TIE could be the problem, but then why doesn't reflect it in the ratings? I mean, if he is going to out rebound me because of my TIE, then I should lose rebounding in the ratings because of my TIE.

But the idea because of the FCP, makes total sense. It would not have affected his rebounding when on offense, but would have on defense...thus a ratings gap.

I'll have to remember that the next time I play a FCP.

The ratings are effected by enthusiasm, which means you playing TIE this game will increase your ratings in your next game (unless your enthusiasm is already around 10 on game days). But the game engine will not change ratings for the current game regardless of whether you play TIE or CT.

Well, no one is talking about St. Olaf. For your argument to be true, you would have to be comparing to players in another fictional online basketball league.

Are you?

If so which one?

I do understand your formula example. What is misleading to those for whom English is not a first language is your use of the term 'medium' without reference to a formula. Clearly PG is the lowest input in the formula and to describe it as medium impact is misleading.

Y'all really do need to update the manual. It is long overdue.

It's not misleading -- as a matter of fact it carries necessary information. Rebounding, on a guard, carries more weight to the Rebounding team rating than, for example the OD on a PF to the Perimeter Defense rating.

Yes it is misleading. People want to know about rebounding when they read this section, not OD. Further, no where in the Game manual have you made this even remotely clear--that you are comparing Rebounding to OD.

This statement of yours has value, but it did not exist before you wrote in this thread, and without including it in the game manual, future readers of the game manual.

In the game manual you have not even hinted that this is the type of comparison you are making. And when this thread scrolls off the current page, your words will be lost to the future.

Please clean up the game manual!

I thought the game manual seems pretty clear about it... :S
