Don't worry man, win lose and injuries are part of game and lucks. We have to be prepared for this all.
I'm sad because not the injuries, but because of the heartbreak loss...

SBBL - The Final - Singapore Showstoppers (SGP rank 9) vs Cheesecake (SGP rank 6)

The Singapore Showstoppers still made SBBLers still remember of their past performance, an average SBBL team and a mere playoff participant. Today, here's your real Showstoppers, because they have stopped some big teams (Eric United, Sessioes Doers) and sneak their way to the big stage, SBBL Final.

Manager Jem92 has done a good job of adding perimeter strength, acquiring combo-guard Xiong Jiayun, and bring back a local Shooter Lin Soon Chun, who proved the right chemistry when playing alongside Alfredo Coutinho, especially when they beat Eric United on Semifinals. The SS crews also paid some attention to scout the European continent, managed to fish out a tough Italiano SF Urbano Di Giuseppe (20ppg 5apg 5rpg). SS still have the same well-skilled bigman pair as per last season, Pedro Pineda (20ppg, 3apg, 11rpg) and tough Center Noel Lima (16ppg 16rpg). Together with their new perimeter players, SS again look very sharp offensively, which are known as their specialty.

As their first opportunity to the Grand Final and with underdog status, SS will be relying on their team play with high percentage scoring to fight out the Great 8 Champ, Cheesecake.

Cheesecake, after a full season of re-shuffling, finally have a squad that are even able to compete with any B3 Championship team. Also the Franchise first trip to final, they will be looking for their first even SBBL Title and represent Singapore for B3 Tournament together with Eric United. Cheesecake, with their current elite squad led by Severino Peres (16.6ppg 7apg) & Vincent Katic (24.5ppg) together with their bigmen that stops Jaguars MVP P.Alexandersson, should have much more advantages. Asides of HCA, each Cheesecake players are much more proven warrior, and they beat the last season Champs, Pekanbaru Jaguars.

Both team reportedly were doing fine, injury free and are ready for tomorrow Game 1 battle.

SBBL - Final Game 1 - Strong 2nd half powers Cheesecake past Showstoppers 110-95.

There they go, at least Cheesecake looked frustated at 1st half.

After made less effort to stop Xiong Jiayun at 1st half, Cheesecake brokethrough the 1st half 48-48 tie with a quick 10pt flurry run. SS shots seemed off and they let Cheesecake to lead them by 13 to the 4th quarter, then totally run out of gas and shots didn't fall, and Cheesecake nabbed the first win of the best of three series, 110-95.

Xiong Jiayun led six SS players with double figures with 19pts, Coutinho & Giuseppe scored 14. Noel Lima has 10pts and 12rebs, Pineda has 13pts 12rebs and 4asts. Cheesecake led by Vincent Katic with 24pts, Viktor Sramek & Peres 22, and Semifinal Hero Tumay Oztogar has huge game with 15pts and 19rebs. Tan Kim Wai has 14 come off the bench.

Game 2 will be at Showstopper Arena on Saturday 29 Oct 2011 6pm.

Meanwhile on relegation games, Xavis and Whampoa Allstar have to pack out from SBBL as they have lost their relegation match to Esplanade BC & Compassvale United, respectively. CPU beat Whampoa 118-100, survived 49pts by Konrad Krassowski. Wang Xiangjia led CPU with 28pts and 14rebs.

Esplanade BC have no problem to outlast Xavis, raced up the 2nd half for the 20pt lead and never threathened. Diego Zago led EBC with 33 pts.
