Not just the four teams in the semi-final, I would say there are many good teams this season which makes the SBBL very competitive.. looking forward to another exciting season ahead..

Yeah, season 17 will see the birth of a new SBBL champion ;P

Maybe this is what I feel, but I tried to compare our league wif c.rep, Spain, Italy, n few country who is top league, our league are counted as the toughest league amoung all. Next season going to be tough, I'm still trying hard to reform my team. Haha.

i haven rebuild my team at all. LOL. cant get those player i dont want to get sold. though got offer for some other player, but dont really wish to sell those. haha

S17 - Tumay Öztoygar buzzerbeater jumpshot eliminated Pekanbaru Jaguars from playoff 97-96.

There's no love for competition, especially playoff. Totally primal without notice.

It seemed like Jaguars are going to won the game after the last season League Final hero, Zhong Xuanwen, hit the vital jumper for a one point lead 96-95 with one second left. But alas, With Cheesecake unable to find any open shooter on the Final possession after timeout, Tumay Öztoygar initiated himself to pick the inbound pass, and swished the long jumper over outstretched arms of 7'4" Li An Wen. Game ended, Jaguars is out, and Cheesecake took 97-96 to SBBL Grand Final, serenaded by the desperated and frenzy crowds after the SHOT.

The Jaguars walked out from Cheesecake stadium hung up their head, once again, for the second time after lost one point decision to Shohoku Backers on Final two seasons ago. This time with much daggering fashion. The Jaguars were trailing at most on 4th quarter, until the Zhong Xuanwen jumper at 1 sec left, and they just can hide to vent out their joy satisfaction which only lasted for 90 seconds after Öztoygar sent them packing out.

MVP Petrus Alexandersson has 28pts (14-15 FG), 17rebs and 5assts. SGP U21 Li An Wen scored 17pts, Arif Salim has 14pts, fouled out on crucial last 30 seconds at 4th. and NT Huo Xiangsong has 13pts 4asst and 7rebs. Li An Wen, despite for his strong output, were unavailable to press interview after failed to stop Öztoygar last shot. Cheesecake Severino Perez led the team with 31pts, Viktor Sramek has 22pts. Wilfred Hatterwusting has 19 rebs and six blocked shots.

Meanwhile on the Big 8, Singapore Showstoppers advanced to SBBL biggest stage for the first time on their franchise, after their solid 4th quarter that dashed out Tournament Champs Eric United. Trailed 70-77 after third, the SS troops regrouped behind Lin Soon Chun and Alfredo Coutinho hot hands, both players contributed six three pointers at 4th quarter, which sparked the early lead and blew past EU.

Sergei Mateu led UE with 34points, Augusto Gomez has 24pts and 5steals. Tournament hero Peleg Schum has 19pts. Fu Erqiang was on DNP because not in good shape. On SS side, Coutinho scored 24pts and Lin scored 23 pts, both combined for 9/12 3PT FG from SS total 13/21 three pointers.

With the result, SBBL will have two new Grand Final performer on Singapore Showstoppers and Cheesecake, with Cheesecake hold the HCA. Game 1 will be started on next Tuesday Oct 25 2011 6pm.

Looks like a tough fight. HCA looks set to determine the winner. I hope I can spring a surprise.

Don't worry man, win lose and injuries are part of game and lucks. We have to be prepared for this all.
I'm sad because not the injuries, but because of the heartbreak loss...

SBBL - The Final - Singapore Showstoppers (SGP rank 9) vs Cheesecake (SGP rank 6)

The Singapore Showstoppers still made SBBLers still remember of their past performance, an average SBBL team and a mere playoff participant. Today, here's your real Showstoppers, because they have stopped some big teams (Eric United, Sessioes Doers) and sneak their way to the big stage, SBBL Final.

Manager Jem92 has done a good job of adding perimeter strength, acquiring combo-guard Xiong Jiayun, and bring back a local Shooter Lin Soon Chun, who proved the right chemistry when playing alongside Alfredo Coutinho, especially when they beat Eric United on Semifinals. The SS crews also paid some attention to scout the European continent, managed to fish out a tough Italiano SF Urbano Di Giuseppe (20ppg 5apg 5rpg). SS still have the same well-skilled bigman pair as per last season, Pedro Pineda (20ppg, 3apg, 11rpg) and tough Center Noel Lima (16ppg 16rpg). Together with their new perimeter players, SS again look very sharp offensively, which are known as their specialty.

As their first opportunity to the Grand Final and with underdog status, SS will be relying on their team play with high percentage scoring to fight out the Great 8 Champ, Cheesecake.

Cheesecake, after a full season of re-shuffling, finally have a squad that are even able to compete with any B3 Championship team. Also the Franchise first trip to final, they will be looking for their first even SBBL Title and represent Singapore for B3 Tournament together with Eric United. Cheesecake, with their current elite squad led by Severino Peres (16.6ppg 7apg) & Vincent Katic (24.5ppg) together with their bigmen that stops Jaguars MVP P.Alexandersson, should have much more advantages. Asides of HCA, each Cheesecake players are much more proven warrior, and they beat the last season Champs, Pekanbaru Jaguars.

Both team reportedly were doing fine, injury free and are ready for tomorrow Game 1 battle.
