There are several issues with the micronations. I will try to make a short list.

1: Dying community. When you know everyones opinion there is little new input, and you get less involvement.

2a: Small market for players from your nation. Especially good ones.
2b: Those good enough that do get sold are either very old, or overpriced (because everyone thinks all micronation teams have huge bank accounts. Those that do are already in the top with premium player that they only have to exchange when they get to old and not good enough to compete at the top level. No use of buying them, when you have to compete against those same teams.
2c: Bad merchandise because it is hard to build a national roster.

3a: HUGE gap between beginners and the old teams.
3b: You play either against bots, which is boring, or very good established teams that crushes you, which also eventually gets boring.
3c: Beginners need to build arena only for 2-3 seasons in order to survive when the player salary floor kicks in. Those that don't know this goes bankrupt and quits the game.

4: It is hard to recruit managers on these terms... Example: "You have to try out this great basketball simulator, you just have to spend a half year or more building arena before you can start and build your squad and experiment with different tactics. After a few years real time investment you are good to play the game and compete. So, are you in?" I don't think so...

Points 3 and 4 are the crucial ones. With a merge points 3 gets solved, point 4 gets better. Points 2 is possible to live with. Point 1 I don't know. If a few more active players join, it might just work out fine.

I'm agree 100%. However the last part is not totally true. You are talking about troubles that can be solved without the merge . Sounds like the merge will be the miraculous way to success and it's not. We still have to find answers for several issues in the game. Merge just look for how to solve the decreasing number of users because of the lack of competitiveness.

They would, but not every nation will get one of their teams every season. The merged league will work as a regional qualification. It will be harder to get there, but it is hard for the top teams in macro nations already, so this just levels it out a little.

I must have missed part of your idea, so you are suggesting a merge BUT we start in our nation and only move to merged stat after 'promoting etc.'?????

Ehrm.. no. Merged leagues, all nations can not get to the BBB each season (not every nation from a merged league will get there). The top division will consist of the best teams from all the merged nations in that area. It may be that one or two nations dominates the top league, but it does not mean teams from the other nations does not have the possibility to play top teams. They just have to play good enough to get there. It is not lack of opportunity that would prevent teams playing the top division. Fewer teams from each nation will be in the top division though. But there will be competition in the next divisions as well. We can't complain that we don't get to play the top teams, when we are looking for more competition. The top division is hard either way, but with more competition in the other divisions teams will be better when they promote, making it harder for teams to (practically) tank in the top division.

I am not in favor of only merging the top division, mostly because it will be a hassle to maintain (especially with teams going down). I think the most likely and doable solution is to merge whole nations (but keep their flag and NTs within the new structure).

What I suggested is what actually happens in Portuguese football, we have very small prize money and tv contracts, in order to portuguese teams to be competitive against big european sharks is to buy cheap and sell expensive, example of Renato Sanches in Benfica this season that is a product of youth sistem and was sold for 35 M €

Keep your 2 cents. Axing the income of small nations might be realistic, but in this case it fails the needs of the community

I'm in a deja-vu

¿did not discuss this a couple months ago already?

BTW

Less money to the micros, means less money to the transfer market means players more cheapers...

I have no clue in wich % of each and how will it be affected and I don't want to start a discusion or whatever... just saying that one of the needs of the comunity will be afected for sure
