Yeah, Cuan's GS is only mediocre so I wasn't surprised he fouled out against Plasier. When Hot Rod came in I thought he might slow Plasier's shooting but didn't really do that. As for OD, yeah, Hot Rod's doing okay although Plasier snuck one through. lol Hot Rod will also end up being a combo guard which I prefer. I don't think guards can afford to be mono-skilled players...need some flexibility in tactics. Dogan did his job tonight...mostly. He got his 48 mins, that's what matters at the moment.

BTW, what are your thoughts on the ongoing discussions about LI being the dominant offensive tactic? Yeah, sure the majority of managers are using it successfully, but there are still succesful outside-focused teams. Hell, I'm planning to be one. Although, I must admit that even with the idea in my head of how I want my team to look like, I will still have that LI option with driving guards.

@Kintoc...where are you mate? Poke you head in and let's know you're still here...

I think LI is dominant because it is used more, it is an easier offense. I prefer my outside O games but with my team the way it stands I have either or ability which is a powerful weapon under my belt. I am a big fan of patient if you have one or two very good offensive players, re our game last night..

An outside offensive is more dangerous in my belief IF... You have the inside defensive aspect covered.. That's my 2 cents :)

Yeah, completely agree with with outside offense capabilities with strong bigs. This is what my end game is. And yeah, I'm a big fan of patient. Sure I used it a lot this season because I've been tanking but I have also used it to get my high JS shooters to destroy a couple of teams on their own.

Hey all... Still here, was on holidays for a week or so.

Re. making a challenge this season, I think the vikings may be raising the trophy. I will be having a crack, but not going to be very competitive against the monster in the centre at the vikings...

Then there is next season... Looking like it will be a tricky one too. All depends on who comes down and if I can make some $$$ from some trainees to replace some of the grey hair brigade in my team.

Great to hear from you again, Kintoc. Hope you enjoyed your holiday. As a school teacher I too am on holidays; however, I've spent the first week and a half packing and moving house and guess what...next week I get to do it all over again! X0

it's a long story...let's just say it will never happen again.

As for your lack-luster willingness to challenge the Vikings...I'm very disappointed! lol Why can't you spend up (go into debt with some monster bigs and have a crack)? I've got everything to gain from that! lol
Seriously though, I fully understand if you don't go this season. Next season is going to be a cracker.
There are probably 8 teams who will have a chance to go all the way depending on what they add between this seasons' finals and next seasons. Personally, I'm still trying to decide how I'm going to tackle next season.

I was wondering when you would poke your head in again, Bilbo. as for the draft...I, too put some money in and hope I'll snag that star you've missed ;-)

I must say you've played your hand beautifully this season and I expect you to be the Flames biggest threat...

Bilbo and Kintoc, good to see you active again.. Not cool with the house, hope you don't have the the same issues again?
Kintoc I don't expect you will lie down either, I think as the teams stand my C is probably the only real difference and I hope to keep it that way, I do have some coin locked away just in case you buy up and I need to re-enforce.. :D

Don't worry about me guys; I'm not interested int his season. My recent game against Cheltenham was a pre-season 20 experiment to see what my boys might do. I trialled my SF project in the PF position, I played my $41k C (in poor GS) against the Bombs very, very good C and let the dynamic duo loose in the backcourt. All in all, given he had HCA and a more expensive starting 5 I was happy with the result even though I didn't want to win any more games. lol
