S17 - SBBL - QuarterFinals
Big 8 - Sessioes Doers (SGP #6) at Singapore Showstoppers (SGP #11)
SS will be hosting SD for a playoff rematch dated to last season. Although SD comes into the match with higher country rank and as a status of the Runner up of last season on both league and tournament, their main player Ricardo Paz has just recovered from long injury and still on the mend. Expect SD to decrease a bit on outside firepower, while SS are always prominent with their stable offense, although they're dismal on defense. As always, the battle between Eike Balkhausen and Noel Lima are always on the watch. This time, maybe no more Ricardo Paz for SD's superman.
Edge : Singapore Showstoppers
Big 8 - Eric United (SGP #4) vs Lycans BB (SGP #9)
The S17 Tournament Champs Eric United will be attending the team that has the SGP best player in Fang ShuangXiang, the mighty Lycans BB. Lycans is back to playoff after 5 seasons absences. This time they're with some supporting cast around FSX. Michaelangelo Bertero and Apostol Blazev are a deadly catch and shoot players. Omar Marteli & Tim Blancke are ready to help FSX on inside area. But they're going to have tough assignment on covering EU's high octane offense, led by their maestro Augusto Gomez. With their athetic and skilled wingmen, they're going to challenge the Lycans weakest part, which is SF area but at the same time, EU could be hard to help themselves to defend inside force by duet of FSX and Marteli.
Edge : Lycans BB
Great 8 - Fat Alexander (SGP #5) vs Cheesecake (SGP #7)
Another S16 playoff rematch, the improved Cheesecake will host the fading Fat-A team, who slightly sneaked into playoff
after worked their way to defeat Pekanbaru Jaguars on their last game. Now the two team with similar outside gunning offense, will be fighting in scoring mode, while both team also have decent bigman to war on the hustle efforts. Expect the battle of Yeo Tse Hui vs Vincent Katic for topscorers.
Edge : Cheesecake
Great 8 - SLZH (SGP #3) vs Pekanbaru Jaguars (SGP #1)
Perhaps the most high rating playoff battle, as both team were participating on B3 tournament this season. Expect both team will bring up their A game on the knockout phase. As usual, SLZH will be relying a lot on Jarno Merinkagas. The veteran leadership on Bela Gorboi and Romeo Laigre should help them to compete with Jaguars Finnish combo Petrus-A and Tommy Kupila. Both team evened their league series, both win once on their own homecourt. Jaguars recent acquisition, Arif Salim, could mean some difference. However, Arif Salim just back from injury, so the status of his readiness still unclear.
Edge : Pekanbaru Jaguars
