Bye bye season 17

Good luck for next season, Mr Phyo. I just realized if I won my match, you will be in the playoff. Regret i didn't put my best effort there.

S17 - SBBL - Cheesecake eliminated Shwe Toe Ngal from playoff 120-104, claimed Great 8 top seed.

They sacrificed and endured for one full season to again achieve the well done mark. Ladies and Gentlemen, your best team now on SBBL, cheesecake.

With a solid win over STN 120-104 after dominate the 2nd half, Cheesecake climbed up again to the first spot past Pekanbaru Jaguars who lost to Fat Alexander 130-113. Victor Sramek led six players in double figures, scored 29pts.

Cheesecake again back to their best form since two seasons ago when they were at Great 8 no.1 position as well. This time, they are much more well armored with triple six-figured players and surrounded with some athetics & wingmen.

With the final result of Great 8, cheesecake will be facing the Fat-A and Pekanbaru Jaguars will match up with SLZH, who almost slides to 4th spot after won only 114-111 from Bobbleheads.

Meanwhile from the Big 8, Singapore Showstoppers secured their top seed after Lycans BB lost to Esplanade BC 91-118. SS is now with their best regular season results in five seasons at SBBL, and are looking to write more memorable histories in playoff. With their best record, they are holding the HCA for quarterfinal and semifinal, if they advance.

Shohoku Backers, although they won their last match from Eric United 101-82, failed to reach playoff after losing the points difference to Sessioes Doers 72 vs 110. The back-to-back defending Champions on S14 and S15, out of playoff for the first time since season 10.

Another tough battle expected on the relegation match between Compassvale United vs Whampoa Allstars. With CPU own the HCA, Whampoa, National Tournament Champions for 4 straight season, are threathened to delegate from SBBL from the first time since they're starting their Franchise at Season 3.

Esplanade BC will face Xavis on the other relegation match. And for Bobblehead and Angel Devil team, they will be out from SBBL on next season.

S17 - SBBL - QuarterFinals

Big 8 - Sessioes Doers (SGP #6) at Singapore Showstoppers (SGP #11)

SS will be hosting SD for a playoff rematch dated to last season. Although SD comes into the match with higher country rank and as a status of the Runner up of last season on both league and tournament, their main player Ricardo Paz has just recovered from long injury and still on the mend. Expect SD to decrease a bit on outside firepower, while SS are always prominent with their stable offense, although they're dismal on defense. As always, the battle between Eike Balkhausen and Noel Lima are always on the watch. This time, maybe no more Ricardo Paz for SD's superman.

Edge : Singapore Showstoppers

Big 8 - Eric United (SGP #4) vs Lycans BB (SGP #9)

The S17 Tournament Champs Eric United will be attending the team that has the SGP best player in Fang ShuangXiang, the mighty Lycans BB. Lycans is back to playoff after 5 seasons absences. This time they're with some supporting cast around FSX. Michaelangelo Bertero and Apostol Blazev are a deadly catch and shoot players. Omar Marteli & Tim Blancke are ready to help FSX on inside area. But they're going to have tough assignment on covering EU's high octane offense, led by their maestro Augusto Gomez. With their athetic and skilled wingmen, they're going to challenge the Lycans weakest part, which is SF area but at the same time, EU could be hard to help themselves to defend inside force by duet of FSX and Marteli.

Edge : Lycans BB

Great 8 - Fat Alexander (SGP #5) vs Cheesecake (SGP #7)

Another S16 playoff rematch, the improved Cheesecake will host the fading Fat-A team, who slightly sneaked into playoff
after worked their way to defeat Pekanbaru Jaguars on their last game. Now the two team with similar outside gunning offense, will be fighting in scoring mode, while both team also have decent bigman to war on the hustle efforts. Expect the battle of Yeo Tse Hui vs Vincent Katic for topscorers.

Edge : Cheesecake

Great 8 - SLZH (SGP #3) vs Pekanbaru Jaguars (SGP #1)

Perhaps the most high rating playoff battle, as both team were participating on B3 tournament this season. Expect both team will bring up their A game on the knockout phase. As usual, SLZH will be relying a lot on Jarno Merinkagas. The veteran leadership on Bela Gorboi and Romeo Laigre should help them to compete with Jaguars Finnish combo Petrus-A and Tommy Kupila. Both team evened their league series, both win once on their own homecourt. Jaguars recent acquisition, Arif Salim, could mean some difference. However, Arif Salim just back from injury, so the status of his readiness still unclear.

Edge : Pekanbaru Jaguars
