Everybody has its own reasons, everybody should be able to choose.

I agree and I said my opinion was in favor of second teams in micronations, but:

If someone in Senegal chose he does not want foreigners in Senegal ? Do we hear your voice or his ? How do we force people to vote ? How do we handle people who did not vote or came after the vote and do not agree with the vote ?

If someone in Bolivia chose he does not want foreigners in Bolivia while all Bahamas are for it ? Do we have to create rules one country by one country ?

I don't know about Bolivia or Bahamas but in Senegal all managers i've talked with can't wait for managers to create their 2d teams in Senegal to make the league more fun to play. Yet, this is a good question. My impression, after having read all the posts here, is that managers from micronations who have given their opinion (they're not a lot...) are mostly okay for welcoming second teams in their country to improve the competition and the fun.

When i've said that "everybody should be able to choose", that was a short way to say that all managers willing to create a second team should be able to choose between the 99th country BB-Marin spoke about (Utopia ?) or any of the 98 already existing with the restrictions BB-Marin mentionned at first.

For me, we should force (sorry, but yeah) the second teams in micronations and people would see afterwards that the problems aren't that big. Yet, that is not the opion of many people and currently not the option the BBs took.

I agree

You seem to never have read the rules Marin posted in the 1st posting of this thread. The 2nd team option imho was never meant to solve the problems of micronations. Otherwise there wouldn't be the rule "only 50% in a nation may be a 2nd team". Take Wales for example: 6 actual players right now, with this rule their would be 12 (maybe). Does that solve the problem of this micronation? I don't think so.

There have been several suggestions what could be done to help micronations, just look in suggestions forum.

There are biig differences between PL and Utopia:

- PL aren't competitive, they are mostly used for testing. If you want to have a competitive PL, you have start your own league system.

- in Utopia you will be able to compete against players from all over the world. So far only teams in BBB had this chance.

I'm quite curious what kind of surprises Marin has thought about. So let's just try and wait for Utopia and not write it off too soon!

While I like the second team idea and I'm eager to hear some more details, I would have loved to have a team in simply another country, and the way it is shaping up as right now is like a "World league", possibly dragging people away from their main teams because it's a different challenge than the original team, and probably even more rewarding, kind of like winning the Masters Cup is more rewarding than winning your domestic league or cup.

My choice for 2nd team would have been USA or other big country, just to challenge my self more. So this decision seems to be okay for me

The only issue I see with this, it will only be fun in the beginning, because everyone is starting on equal terms. Later it loses the point.. Unless they plan to keep opening new utopias after certain number of seasons.

here in Uruguay many of us didn't want foreing teams.

but, before that, as someone here said: counting all supporters, are we talking an average of 10 foreing teams per country??? and we have all this electronic ink to complain about "saving micronations"??? just because 10 teams/average per nation? c'mon...

let's WAIT to catch the rooster before complaining about how it tastes.

So it looks like second teams going forward with Utopia, that's exciting. I would've preferred being able to choose a country but I like this better than a completely isolated league. I think there will be some issues that need to be worked out which could be an interesting discussion.

How should they handle the time zone issues? If all supporters play in one country that would mean game times are different for people in different time zones. It would be kind of disappointing if I got a second team but had to play games at 3 in the morning.

Will they try to group teams by region? With all second teams in one country there will be language issues in the forums. It would be kind of bummer to get the chance to get a second team in an active league only to find out that no one there speaks the same language as you.

Will Utopia get a National Team? I haven't really gotten that involved with NT stuff but it seems that it is important to a lot of players here. Being able to develop NT players for you're home nation is part of the fun but some people might be upset of a new fairly large nation being created with active and experienced users. The manager base might give Utopia an advantage in national team competitions.

Excited for the new developments and interested to see how things are worked out.
