As long as you get 48 minutes in a game, there will be no problem. I prefer scrimmages because it doesn't matter if you win or lose and it gets easier to manage minutes. If you are playing good teams, it is hard to train.

You have a lot to learn. Training is only once a week on Fridays. It only takes one full game to enable you to give a player full training. So playing your HOF 2 full games is just a waste of training that could be used on another player. Not to mention 96 minutes gives him bad GS. Trainees can keep good GS if they play a full game for training and are a backup in another game. You want to play 3 games a week because it allows u to give 3 players full training (well at least thats the aim). Playing 3 games a week u need about 12 players so u can manage GS properly.

Also, he can start just three players in a scrimmage and the game will proceed normally. So, he can add a trainee, and a couple of 1K salary scrubs for scrimmages, and have the benefit of building another good player.

There are three simple questions to asking yourself whether or not you require a trainer much past advanced:

1) Does my trainee have a high (MVP, HOF or ATG) potential, or is he merely at the superstar level or under?

2) Do i fancy trying to shoot for the u21 squad with my trainee (one could make this argument to the NT as well, but it would seem that few go this far).

3) Do i have a trainee who is significantly behind in pops for his age (applies mostly to 20-21 year old prospects with ~47-52 attributes)?

If you cant fit your guy into at least one of these categories, it is a waste of money. I have a level 5 because i have two prospects who fit into at least two categories on this list, and even still i find myself feeling as if it's not worth it to me to go past a level 4.
