If your opponent decides to play an outside tactic then playing a 2-3 zone can really hurt your team. The same can't be said if you play a 3-2 zone (against an outside team) and your opponent surprises you by going inside, seeing a 3-2 zone can still be effective aginst an inside offense.

well i dont have to worry about the team im playing going outside because even with a 2-3 zone he wouldnt stand a chance, but will a 3-2 zone be more effective than a 2-3 zone since the team im playing has poor guards and i can capitalize on their mistakes

If you thnk they have poor guards I would definitely go with a 3-2 zone.

1. It will make it even harder for their guards to score (especially because they are bad).
2. It will be even harder for their guards to pass to their big men which is their first priority.
3. Even if they play an outside tactic you will be safe.
4. If your big men are good inside defenders and good rebounders then playing a 3-2 zone will have all the advantages above as well as defending their big men well and rebounding well.

what do you mean by "but it turns out pretty ugly if he suprise you"?

aussie said it for me, because 2-3 is very weak against an outside attack and as i said in the posting before i don't believe the ame with 3-2 which is still ok but not superior like Naker said against inside attack but it also not the killer anyymore against outside shooting teams.

So i am betwen those too opions.

Yeah, 3-2 hasn't ever worked on me. I think it works on the old fashioned teams with guards just there to fill in space and the SF essentially another C. All 5 starters and some of my bench have good driving and passing, So 3-2 just makes it easier for me, I scored over 100 with a 5.2 OF last time that happened. I haven't faced anything but 2-3 this whole season. Bring back the zone ban I say!

Anyway I find all of the presumptious advice pretty funny. You should know what to do Russell. I'm going to TIE anyway.

Well I wasnt just asking because of our 1 game, I'm going to be playing teams like gavno or bangerz in the playoffs who are strong inside and decent outside so I wanted input for a better understanding of how the tactics work in the game engine.

You said all 5 startest and bench players have good driving and passing so 3-2 makes it easier for you, but that would actually be a support for a 3-2 zone so i can cover the drive and prevent the passes better.

Thanks for input everyone especially naker virus

Of course it does, the trade off however is more rebounds for myself, more touches and quality shots for my big men. Pretty fine by me. I get tired of constant double teams in the post anyway.

Gavno has been Run and Gun this year, not sure about 2-3, although it'd probably work vs Bangers.

well the point would be less touches for your big men not more. obviously rebounding, and the quality of the shot when they do toch the ball would be increased

I think even if i went 1-3-1 zone i would still win the game so im not too worried even if things dont work out
