S17 - SBBL - Big 8 - Report Card
1. Angel & Devil (SGP #21)
Plus :
- N/A
Minus :
- Totally an SBBL bypasser team.
Summary :
A&D move up and down between SBBL and Div II, but made no reinforcement to look on the future. Their key player are still on Ivan Gardosa (17.5ppg) and Vaižgantas Gunevicius (19.8ppg). This season saw the worst form of A&D, as the team have yet to win a single game, cornered on SBBL Big 8 at 0-17 and on their way to 0-22. Team manager Gui Gui hasn't shown up yet since Aug 28th 2011, made the BB Commisioner threaten to break the team if there's no show after first week of October 2011.
Prediction : #8
2. Whampoa Alstars (SGP #7)
Plus :
- Combination of strong offensive flow and deadly shooting, made Whampoa the best Motion team in SBBL
Minus :
- The emergence of most of Big 8 teams has made Whampoa team looks average, especially on bigman area.
Summary :
The four-time Tournament Champs, Whampoa came into S17 with their strong clutch performers like Arthur Hottinger, Omri Arnon and Falko Rogali. However, weak planning on the Front Office has hurt their chance to keep pace with suddenly improved SBBL league, as most of team have majorly upgraded and featured six-digits salaried players. Still led by their usual leader Omri Arnon (23ppg),Konrad Krassowski (20ppg), and the duo PG Ng Chao Huat (13ppg 6apg) and Falko Rogali (5.8ppg 2.7apg) still their reliable playmaker, although the improved league has already starting to overwhelm their dominance. With Whampoa on passive mode, there won't be any surprises if Whampoa ended up like what position they are currently stand. And if it is, they are going to have a tough Relegation battle (See Great 8 position #6 & #7) and on their way to face fall out from SBBL for the first time in a decade.
Prediction : #7
