S17 - SBBL - New look Xavis team stops New look Fat Alexander 126-118.

And the league raised eyebrow when those bottom place team make some sounds against the big tigers.

Xavis, used an unusual solid play, found themselves led 70-51 after first half, and managed to hold off one of SBBL top team Fat Alexander with final score 126-118. Xavis huge lead lasted until 4th quarter with 4 minutes left and 20pts lead, before Fat-A charge back within single digit, but it was too late.

Both team were featured by their new prized acquisition, Xavis with new six-figured Italian center Amilcare Antedime, while Fat-A snatched Estonian Andreas Vana from a B3 team Bouncing Camels. But Antadime was the one that really sharp, outplayed Fat-A superstar Roland Krassnitzer. Antadime has 22pts and 21 rebs, while fellow newcomer Leon Piascik has 28pts and 10assists. Gianpaolo Montecucco led Fat-A with marvelous 46pts, Christoffensen with 27pts 7asts, and Yeo Tse Hui has 24pts.

Meanwhile the hot Jaguars, finally have to bow down at Cheesecake arena 96-98. Trailed 10 pts at halftime, Jaguars bounced back on 3rd to get within 3pts before 4th quarter, even got their first lead 90-89 with 7 minutes remained, but their shots were off again and cheesecake managed to scored the next 7pts and briefly seal the game at 98-94, before Viktor Sramek fouled Zhong Xuanwen and narrowed the final score to 98-96. Viktor Sramek led with 23pts, Severino Perez has 18pts and Tan Kim Wai scored 16 from the bench. Topscorer Vincent Katic, who has the main Jaguar target, was held to 4/14 shooting. Petrus Alexandersson led Jaguars with 23pts and 16rebs.

With Shwe Toe Ngal grabbed their latest win from SLZH 101-71, now Jaguars, Fat-A, SLZH and STN has the same record with 11-6, with Jaguars own the tiebreaker. And Xavis suddenly looked hungry down there, as they're going to be painful for any team that gonna faced them on Relegation match.

From the Big 8, the veteran wagon Shohoku Backers kept regressing, loosen up the effort to protect their homecourt from Singapore Showstoppers, lost 92-107. Lack of energy was killing the Backers from the start, as the Showstoppers outscored them 27-18 and led 57-32 at the intermission. Barely nullify the boxscore at 3rd, Shohoku showed little ressistance and given up the match to Showstoppers. Xiong Jiayun led Showstoppers with 23pts 7asts 6rebs. Noel Lima has 22pts and 15rebs. Aniol Soler led Shohoku with 30pts.

I was surprised that I managed to beat Shohoku especially since I was the away team.
By the way, I enjoy reading your analysis of all the different teams and your predictions.
