It is three times the same post … that is not nescessary.
But as you can see, there is lots of information available on both threads (and more to come), and these forums are not ideal for handling lots of information.
One more reason to keep it together and not spread it up.
You see, this is at the development stage, in the sense that it is finding it's form.
Good example is what I wrote about just a while ago figuring out how we should implement sending box score links (not 120-240 posts, which was the original idea). Everything affects everything, and this especially to HGL Scores thread.
As for three times the same post - I will let you keep your opinion on that. However, for me that also means extra work so I don't do it for fun. I do it because we must get some important information through on time to participating managers, and practices (on where to go with what information) are still just forming. BBMail is usable in some instances, but it's ridiculously limited use makes it a tool which you want to use as little as ever possible (especially when having to inform large number of managers).
On thoroughness of instructions, there could be multiple views. But personally I don't like things done half-assed. And I might not be master in condensing things. But league essentials need to be out there (like I said, something is also still missing from official threads in terms of information). It is not beneficial nor enough, nor sensible, that info on how league works is only in my head and then managers would need to ask about every other thing from me separately.
I would also like to quote MrJ here, to present another point:
Secondly, despite the fact that I am on BB pretty much every day and reading every post that is posted, the sheer volume of 'information' now has me struggling to:
1. Know which thread I should be reading for particular information/instructions; and
2. Which thread i should post in as there is so much cross-over now
Make no mistake, I share this same problem. Like I said, this is also growing pain, and we are (hopefully) growing out of this thread. However, I have seen that most managers still conversate here instead, even though that I've multiple times said in messages that I hope we'll transfer our conversation to official threads. For that reason, I have also sent essential messages also to this thread. As mentioned million times, forums are mediocre at best as a means to keep everyone informed on key aspects, changes and such, as it simultaneously accommodates regular conversation which may bury important information. Good example was the 10 day stretch on this forum - someone said there were about 220 messages sent during 10 days. Good luck everyone trying to find information from there... :) (I had also some posts during that 'run' that would need to be checked out later, but it takes lots of time to find them and I have plenty of more essential things to do - good example of forum usability, especially when we are talking about other than first page that's visible in a thread).
As for usage purpose of threads, Scores thread is not planned for 'everyday HGL conversations' in the first place (however, this principle might become more flexible as we will implement 16 box score posts/season practice instead of 200+ score posts/season), and Official HGL thread serves as a platform for that.
As for what information should be looked from which official thread, one can check out the first about 11 posts on each official HGL thread to see, which kind of information they contain. That's a clue what kind of content to look for. They have not been changed in major way since the publication in terms of changing into another thread - new content has been published though, of course. Some posts are published on both, due to being essential or because I have not decided whether they should remain on both or not.
