What makes soccer (even if i am not big fan, i follow only my team Panathinaikos), is that you need very little to play it. Just a ball, and empty space...You can play it everywhere, and i think that this is the biggest reason that is the most popular sport on the planet.

I totally agree

I have watched some of the lower levels in England. What really differentiates it from MLS (even to my wife's eyes) is the pace and effort that they put into it. My favorite team is Leeds United, not exactly a powerhouse anymore. =D

Leeds United is a historic team in english football, they won three titles in the premier league and other throphies, have some financial troubles in the recent past that relegate it in a low disvision,10 years ago plays the semifinal of the Champions League, isn't exactly a unknown team ;D

Depends though, MLS games in the fall are alot faster then MLS games in the summer. Running for 90 in sun, heat and humidity is a bit harder then in England where none of those occur very often.

Funny, I went to a few Leeds matches about 10 years ago when they were in the UEFA cup. Still can't believe what happened to that extremely promising young team.

I live in Kentucky. (Big Louisville fan). I can tell you that college basketball is king of all sports around here. Not even close.

I believe I once saw a graphic from ESPN that showed the states and what their number one favorite sport from the fans in that state voting in a poll. Only 2 states had college basketball as their favorite overall sport. Kentucky and North Carolina. So to me that means those two states are where college basketball is most fanatical.
