when I was running our Malaysian NT, we had a player whose stats went way over his Star potential.

It took forever for a pop, but he did pop eventually. I also have another American friend who was training for a PS pop on his PG for over 9 weeks, but he did eventually pop.

It's a small sample size, but take what you will from it.

I'm sharing an opinion, and what I've seen/ heard / read. Not concrete facts.

I never tried to train someone for over 4-5weeks without a pop, so you're maybe right. It's just strange because I've never heard of this so far... I guess I'll never know, I don't want to train someone for 9 weeks for a pop XD

Potential acts as a "soft" cap on ratings, meaning that a player who has trained to his full potential may still improve, but will improve much more slowly than a player who has not yet reached his potential.

did anyone read the manual ?

tbh at one point the manual was so outdated it ceased to be a credible source of info for me. :)

and yes I did read it. ;)

I've trained a player for 6 weeks before getting a pop. longest six weeks ever.

As far as I know there is no hard cap limit on any player in buzzerbeater, keep training them and they'll keep improving. But there is a soft cap limit and once they reach that training will slow down to a snails pace. I would imagine that's exactly what happened here.

I think it is also important to note his 7'5 frame, which allows him to train his big skills a bit faster as well.
