First of all dude, 2 balls. 1 for each of the last two posts.

It would be like Shaq saying to Kobe "I'm not that much taller than you, or stronger than you/it doesn't matter... I am more skilled" (or some other such line of discussion). Denying your advantages doesn't help the conversation at all.

Look, this is far from something I dwell on. For me, it's no point at all. But for some it's all they've had to hang their arguments on - and that is indeed misguided.
I agree that at the top of the tree, there's an advantage - if you compare those teams to the mid-level teams of bigger nations. But for the majority of those that have come, played, stayed a lil' or left because of getting thrown into a div 1/2 where you're cannon fodder... not so much.

Same is true of the top of other nations... now, I do not deny that it's *easier* to get to the top of a micro... with a bit of luck. If you start your BB life in a strong div 2 or in a div 1, then you have seasons of getting the proverbial kicked out of you first. There's no early satisfactory of the win, there's no steady climb. IF you can stick that out - sure: there's cash to be had.
Now, some bright spark'll probably point to that last commentary and state that MERGER WILL FIX THIS! And that's true... but at what cost? If it comes at being part of a Walmart version of what BB's been? NathnxImdone...
BB's about (or has been) diversity, and celebrating that diversity. If the fact that some teams at the very top of small nations are at times able to be competitive against the very top of big nations is something that upsets you... well, I'm sorry. Tough.
The aforementioned issue (lack of success early/having to face established teams right away) has other ways to be fixed that don't involve making the world a Utopian vanilla bath.

A query: everyone votes?

No, it would be a poll set up that only the affected micro-nation managers could vote in. That doesn't mean the results of it would determine the outcome of what's to be done. An overwhelming majority one way or the other would strongly influence that decision, though.

We're not dismissing the concerns of the managers from larger BB countries, but at the same time, the effects of a potential merge isn't going to impact them in the same way. Nonetheless, everyone's thoughts on the matter are still welcomed and encouraged.

Cheers. I'm fine with that.

Not sure if serious or trolling. Anyway well written brilliant post, all the discussion would be much easier if everybody realise this.

Except... it's being painted (by some, not Trainerman) as if this is the norm for ALL micro users. And the focus currently being placed on this is missing the point entirely.
All discussion hence would be much easier if everybody realised this.

Definitley serious.

One pint that Malice kinda makes/is making is that for competing in our league the financial challenge is very real for new teams...in some ways with minimum salary it could actually be harder for a new team. They will ahve to pay a DI floor before they could build arena unless someone tells them very soon/quick to get it done and they ahve to build a DI/B3 level roster quickly to even have hope of competing, otherwise its crush bots and be crushed by eveyrone else...so its real crummy in this sense.

Spot on! Sheesh dude... you're on a roll! It only ends up being any sort of advantage (at all!) if you're capable, and survive the initial onslaught. How many times have we had someone join the JBBL mid-season, and quit before the end, for the very reasons you list? Crazy...

There are people who depend on this game to pay the bills and if they're not comfortable taking a risk of that nature, it's completely understandable.

Seems they had an easy life so far - if they don't make ambitious changes they better start looking for some other sources of income, as the soil their profit is coming from, is eroding very fast...

I manage a very small online game. It is a lot of work and it does not generate enough money to pay the bills for the server alone..don't start with the time i spent to develop everything.

It is not the same as BB, but still, you should respect the work the developers put into this game at least a little...
