I've created a thorough team salary benefits and transfers-post for HGL Season 2, which can be found from here: (327516.4).

As for someone who might be TLDR-type of person, here's a quick recap of it:

Teams receiving salary benefit on HGL Season 2:

Note:'Plus' means that team has gained salary advantage by purchasing back own previous players, 'minus' means they do not benefit from such purchases currently.

1. Virtus Portici: total salary benefit plus $245183 (team top8 wages: $473K)

2. BC Eos: total benefit plus $43489 (team top8 wages: $249K)

3. Rajdersi: total benefit plus $112 (team top8 wages: $342K)

4. Wagner College: total minus $6520

5. WiMaOlCa: total minus $24501

6. Elan Demars: total minus $115999

If team name is unavailable on the list above, it hasn't got any re-purchased own draftees in their current roster.

Please remember: if you buy players (HGL eligible players only, of course), it is your duty to inform HGL Commissioner of such purchases so that aforementioned post on HGL rosters and purchases can be updated in the future!

Very good question Spela! Actually the only place where you are required to enter your season scores is your own box score post. You only need to enter the score (in numbers) there after the match is played, like for example here in my box score post: (327517.14).

So actually it is not a requirement anymore (we dropped the requirement during HGL Season 1) to send a separate box score post (such as for example this: (327517.48)) to a scores thread. However, if you want you can still send a separate post for each match as well (and I encourage everyone to do so who are willing to take the time to do it).

Please remember though, that even if you´d send a separate box score post ("report of single match score") to scores thread, you still are required to fill your own box score post with match scores. So in other words, if you absolutely want to minimize the effort used for HGL, you can stick with practice of only adding scores of matches to your own box score post.

I'm glad to hear you enjoy the ride and reading official threads, and I'm sure it's going to be an interesting season for you as you have very respectable team also in terms of salaries (Top8-players salaries 3rd in whole HGL!). If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask them here on official threads or send BBMail to me. As mentioned, we have many active, experienced and AFAIK very knowledgeable managers here in our HGL community, and most of the times someone will be able to respond you sometimes even very quickly if I don't happen to be online.

Thanks for editing the post! And hopefully see you here in the official threads, you definitely don't have to have questions to participate to conversation and it would be interesting to hear thoughts about your team (especially regarding/relating to HGL) and of your goals in HGL and future expectations/plans of your team and player development, etc. here in the threads.
Of course that's 100% voluntary, but I personally find it interesting to read all such posts, so it's easy decision for me to encourage everyone to do so! :)

@all HGL managers:
Please remember to keep filling scores to your own box score post during the Regular Season after the matches have been finished/played.

Updated league tables are available again on both Official Threads, for example here: (327516.5).

What an interesting Round 3 we had!

VPO seems to be acquiring wins round after round, now beating one of the biggest medal favorites, KKS, by no less than 21 points - probably the biggest upset of the Round 3 for me personally (as I thought it's going to be very close one at the very least).

From other newcomers, HB also has had a very strong start, beating a bronze medalist of Season 1, WMO in Round 1 and also clinching a victory against another respectable French competitor ED by only 2 points - and match was tied after 3rd quarter...

As for other HGL newcomers, EOS had a slightly disappointing afternoon, as they held 15 point lead after 3rd quarter, but 2 of their starters fouled out in a match and they ended up losing 4th quarter by 19 and match by 4 points (despite winning match rebounds by 15). On the other hand, with that FRE achieved their first ever win in HGL, congratulations for that!
All Regular Season wins are recorded to the all-time HGL stats, so it's good idea to fight for every win... :)

Indeed it was, and with the addition of new teams it certainly has a fresh feel to it as we're going to have plenty of matchups that have never taken place before!

Having said that, I'm looking forward to long time rivalries in HGL, and while I still haven't found a less arduous way of calculating/creating win-tables for certain countries/territories matchups (against each other), I´ll keep that opportunity in mind. While winning of course isn't the only rewarding thing in HGL (not even close, which is one of the things that´ll keep it interesting even though for instance I wouldn't be able to develop a team that contends for a gold medal realistically), it would be pretty interesting to gather some win-loss, or some other data for certain selected matchups. Say, Europe vs. The Americas, Best of Nordic countries, All-time league table within French teams playing each other (As we have many teams from France), Country#1 vs. Country #2 all time win-loss record, etc.

I know I´m throwing out a lot of ideas possibly without time to do them, but let's see if anyone else would find this an interesting additions stats-wise.

As for your match today, LennuK., if we compare salaries only, challenge is only going to grow bigger with WiMaOlCa, the defending bronze medalist of HGL, with about 75K higher top8-salaries than your team. However, that has often proved to be not an insurmountable difference in terms of being able to fight for win, so points from that match haven't been delivered yet. :)

For Round 4 matches today, LGM will face the same challenge against FRE today, and according to salaries that should become a very close call.

Another especially interesting match could be RAJ vs. ED, as they are within $36K of each other in salaries, so they could even end up with similar number of wins at the end of Regular Season and this could prove to have been the decisive factor to determine which team will reach higher in Official Regular Season Rankings (ORSR), as match result during Regular Season will be used to determine better team if teams are tied for wins.

Good luck for everybody for Round 4!

Hello all,
Just something to note; releasing an updated league table (after Round 4) will very likely take little bit longer this time, but will be done as soon as I find time, so nothing to worry about.

League table after Round 4 of play now updated on both Official Threads.

Couple of observations:

5 new-to-HGL teams have started their season well, their combined record so far being 13 wins and 7 losses, and new teams HB and VPO are (in addition to HAD with spotless W-L record) only teams without loss so far, 4 matches into the Season 2.

3 teams are still winless, but as it currently stands, they're only 1 win away from the last (12th) Playoff position.

For me personally, as teams just behind the absolute highest payrolls (the "middle ground/upper middle ground" of teams so to speak) on average I think have gotten stronger in terms of salaries for Season 2, it's been a very rocky start for myself (even though by looking at salary alone, those have been expected losses to some extent at least), and I'm looking the infamous "double line" in the HGL league table from below, having lost 3 of 4 first matches.

League table update finished a while ago, and while Round 5 offered only 1 thriller (WAG vs. SUM, equalizer attempt in the air 35 seconds to go in the game clock), we had some movement of teams in the league table.

On Round 5 for instance HAD again showed why he is the defending champion of HGL, serving HB their first loss of the season and therefore leaving only 2 teams (HAD, VPO) with perfect 5-0 record.

Mid-table is still (as one could expect) very close, 6 teams having almost same win-loss record (all of them between 3W-2L and 2W-3L).

So there are 5 teams with 5-0 or 4-1 record, 6 teams with 3-2 or 2-3 record, and finally 5 more teams with 1-4 or 0-5 record.
But it's a young season still and many changes in league table can and will happen, and as schedule (that has been originally provided by MrJ, and re-used from Season 1) has been created with a random schedule generator, apart from my teams' schedule I haven't checked out how "projected likely wins/losses" from first and second part of season are expected to take place in the case of each team, in other words how easy or hard are each teams' first and second part of the Regular Season in terms of expected win-loss record.

Anyway, there should be interesting matches ahead this Friday, for instance HB vs. SUM (somewhat equal in salaries and 1 win apart from each other), LMS vs. WAG (same story as in HB vs. SUM).

Also in TRO vs. D it´s going to be interesting to see how even that match will be, as they are almost equal in top8-salaries (with TRO having $8K edge) but D has been able to find a way to a winning record (3-2), while TRO are still searching for the first win of the young season (at 0-5).

While ED is definitely a respectable and strong team, it'll be also interesting to see how EOS can challenge them with $56K lower salaries - as stated before, it's somewhat big difference, but we´ve seen stranger things in the past than 56K underdog winning. And AFAIK, this is the first ever meeting between these teams (unless, of course, they've played some pickup or friendly matches between each other), so that always delivers some added interest to a matchup.

What kind of goals you all have for Season 2 of HGL?
