I believe the term you're looking for here is, democracy.
Well... the world of BB isn't exactly a democracy. I mean: what other important issues have we voted on?
And as far as smaller nations having it easier, financially they do. I don't even see how this is debatable.
You know this because... ? At any rate: this is not the central point for those that this impacts the most. For me, the crux of the matter is if we can keep some semblance of identity. I get that there are people here who don't give a proverbial about that... and generally speaking, they come from larger nations. Which is a source of frustration.
@gianloco
A query: everyone votes? Bigger nations who this doesn't really impact are going to basically make the decisions for us lil' guys?
How does not impact bigger nations?
As stated above, it impacts *us* far more than it impacts *you*.
@fab five manager
The micronation issue is an oportunity to balance the game.
In my experience, the ideal is to start in div. V playing against human managers and try to climb the ladder to first division. The economy of div. V, the team you receive and the gap to other managers is the way to go to actively compete and improve your team from the beginning.
And my experience differs to yours. Which is kinda the point, and something I've really enjoyed in BB. Chasing flags, becoming acquainted with people from all over the world - not that this still couldn't happen, but it'd be a watered down version. Once the game becomes so bland and alike that it's all minute variations of the same vanilla game, who cares? Not me.
So I would create regions of +1500 users, efectively killing nations (if only we could do the same in the real world), but keeping nationalities because it's a fact that they are very atractive for most users. I would also put together the human users in the div. V as it was done in Utopia.
And I think that once that happened, very quickly you'd end up with only a few regions. I guess that'd be easier to manage...
Interesting conversation, given the participants.
