Apart from option 1 of this initial feedback stage, everything else is still on the table.

Well, THAT'S good news.

Unfortunately not. Ideally what will happen is that the BBs select a final solution based on the feedback received and put it to a public yes/no vote.

A query: everyone votes? Bigger nations who this doesn't really impact are going to basically make the decisions for us lil' guys?

Ideally? Hardly. You guys know what is good for the game, and me-me-me is not, no matter how many people want it.

Right back atcha Mike. You've been pushing your own particular barrow based on how you *think* smaller nation users have it better than you.

I believe the term you're looking for here is, democracy.

And as far as smaller nations having it easier, financially they do. I don't even see how this is debatable.

The micronation issue is an oportunity to balance the game.
In my experience, the ideal is to start in div. V playing against human managers and try to climb the ladder to first division. The economy of div. V, the team you receive and the gap to other managers is the way to go to actively compete and improve your team from the beginning.
So I would create regions of +1500 users, efectively killing nations (if only we could do the same in the real world), but keeping nationalities because it's a fact that they are very atractive for most users. I would also put together the human users in the div. V as it was done in Utopia.
So you end up with between 10-13 regions merged by language/proximity/user preference and at the same time the game is ready for any increase in the number of users (let's keep positive).
It is my belief that this solution would also have a positive impact in the transfer market with more medium wage quality players and mostly solving the tanking problem because you will demote to a lower league if you do so.

Well... the world of BB isn't exactly a democracy. I mean: what other important issues have we voted on?

And as far as smaller nations having it easier, financially they do. I don't even see how this is debatable.

You know this because... ? At any rate: this is not the central point for those that this impacts the most. For me, the crux of the matter is if we can keep some semblance of identity. I get that there are people here who don't give a proverbial about that... and generally speaking, they come from larger nations. Which is a source of frustration.

How does not impact bigger nations?

As stated above, it impacts *us* far more than it impacts *you*.

And my experience differs to yours. Which is kinda the point, and something I've really enjoyed in BB. Chasing flags, becoming acquainted with people from all over the world - not that this still couldn't happen, but it'd be a watered down version. Once the game becomes so bland and alike that it's all minute variations of the same vanilla game, who cares? Not me.

So I would create regions of +1500 users, efectively killing nations (if only we could do the same in the real world), but keeping nationalities because it's a fact that they are very atractive for most users. I would also put together the human users in the div. V as it was done in Utopia.

And I think that once that happened, very quickly you'd end up with only a few regions. I guess that'd be easier to manage...

Interesting conversation, given the participants.

Any chance you give us some rough estimations?

1. How likely is the merger going to happen? For example, are the BBs very intent on making it, and are currently just looking for a best solution? Or not really set in stone yet, and may not go with it at all.

2. Is it a long term plan, or planned to happen soon after decision is made? For example, is it going to happen in about two seasons, or the BBs will slowly develop it, and may happen in 5-7 seasons.

To stay on top, I need to have a long term plan for my team in place.

Edit: another user pointed me to your previous answer regarding this question.
