His PG's had a PP100 of 80 so their shooting % should have been around 40%. It was a little bit better: 45% (in theory his team should have scored 73 points instead of 76). In your case your C/PF had nice PP100 but they have tried very few: 28/75. In theory your team should have scored 69 points. So a loss anyway.

Now why your C and PF have tried so few? Your offensive flow was not very good so your outside players had troubles to find your big men against the great opposite OD. So I don't think your loss is a real upset. Of course with a little bit more luck you could have won but it's definitively not a steal ;)

Joe

Definitely not a steal but still a bit frustrating as it could have massive consequences at the end of the season... that, plus the fact that I'm a sore loser but I guess we all are to some extent

I still think that I'm missing something though. His offensive flow was low too, lower than mine. His players still easily found a way to give a lot of shoots to his PGs, despite the 3-2 zone.

All in all his players shot a little bit better than expected, and mine did worse than expected, as evidenced by my SF who shot 16,7% with a PP100 of 78.

It was supposed to be much more balanced than a 12 points loss but hey, sh*t happens.

Offensive flow is much less important in his case because the shooter was the PG, the player with the ball. Offensive flow is much more important in inside offenses or in a patient where the scorer is inside. So BC Slammers, by playing with his scorer as PG, doesn't need a good offensive flow []

Joe

But his players still need to move the ball until his PG gets an open shoot, it's not like his PG played alone the entire game. Just look at the assists, his team had 50% more assists than mine. Is it really that much harder to find big men in the paint than to find a guard, with a 3-2 zone ?

Just to make it clear, I'm not crying a river Just trying to understand where it went that wrong.

Yeah, team ratings is a bitch and can lead to seriously undersestimate the opponent, especially when you're playing with players whose skill set doesn't immediately impact the spot they're playing at (such as passing on SF, PF and C).

Well if we consider that both a high PA (despite on guards) and a high SB isn’t reflected in team ratings… then maybe something should be done about it?

Again I’m not whining, I lost that game and it’s alright. But I believe team ratings should reflect the « real » level of the team, or at least give a fair idea of its level. Or else you’re just playing against a black box.

Just my 2 cents.

It is true that he was always selling very well, much better than me.
But as you said nothing was way to high.
Strange indeed with the banned teams and bots…however I know him so well that it is impossible for me to believe he was doing this.
