BB-F,
I think I am following what you are doing with the economy. So correct me if I am wrong with this summary:

1. The salary calculation is changing so that you can have a controlled amount of outflow for ALL teams. So if the total players salary in the game for all teams is say $1 billion (as example) this season, and based on incomes you might need to make the total salaries $1.1 billion. So the total would change some, and the distribution of that would go to all players based on their skill level. So training a player will more than likely raise their salary based on the fact that they move up in terms of where they are compared to all the players in BB. That is my understanding.

2. From BB comments the FA adding back into the game I think has to do with the reaction to number 1. where teams believe they have a surplus that the can spend based on perceived salary reduction (and also sales of arena seats). And this is done to slow the inflation of rising prices of players on the TL. So is this temporary? and will we know what the salary threshold is for FAs to retire or go to the TL?

I'm not sure if the FA thing will work out from my perspective since I am saving up to buy a player, but again you say this is long term, so we will wait and see.

i just spent all my money on upgrading my arena.
if i had some prior knowledge that free agents were coming back i would not have done that.
im very under powered for the div im in, getting a good free agent for a low price was not an option when i decided to upgrade my arena.
but now it is.

i dont expect prices to drop over night , but i can see the odd few free agents been sold under price, these are the players i would of jumped on, and imho would greatly increase my chances of staying up.

im not saying im disadvantaged in selling, im disadvantaged in buying.
my only problem really with what you guys are done is that there was no notice.

i love this game by the way, and like in real life i roll with what comes my way so i guess ill just adjust somehow lol

Lets review for instance the arena decision. SOME top teams were building huge arenas and huge fan bases, if this continued we would see as you said "the same teams as top teams" all the time, and promoted teams would not be able to build an arena large enough quick enough to compete. So, we made it harder to fill larger arenas, and change the attendance formula such that overall teams earned about the same, but there was less of a spread in amount of income at top divisions. In doing so we felt it was unfair to teams that build huge arenas to change the rules and make their perfectly reasonable long term strategy a penalty, and so we allowed for the arenas deconstruction, which caused this temporary influx of extra cash into the system.

In my opinion it's not not really true. As I wrote before, my team (as world rank 14, I think my team is one of the top teams) I’m able to earn $ 606k from home match and I believe it should be even better. Last season my best gate receipts was $ 555k, it’s at least $ 50k more. I’m not sure if average team has this increase, probably not. And I also will get $ 1M for arena deconstruction. I think it will be even harder for all other teams in my country to win the championships (there were the same league finals for last 5 seasons). The gap between my team and the others in my country is going to increase. In addition I have in my roster 3 domestic NT players a 2 other solid domestic players and have the first or second highest merchandise income in country.
But I thank you anyway for the changes. It’s time for me to build team which will be able to compete well in B3, because only there are teams which can beat my team.

You might want to consider the option that there was a recent change of idea @BB and that immediate action were needed to halt the inflationary process. I remember JUICEPATS somewhere said it was never going to return; but it did; it took courage to take that action. IMO it was a necesssary move due to the irrational buyers/sellers market; and prompt action was required. With 50000 users; always some actions taken are not perfect timed in view to few users; thats life.

yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present."

i understand all of this and i do agree that it is indeed what was needed to be done.
i just think it was wrong we were not given any notice, i have explained why, and in my eyes its a valid complaint.

I´m happy with the new release of Free Agents because I think it is a good reaction to solve a problem that has been created at the beginning of this season with the new economic changes: Arena reduction, TV, merchandising and "something" related to salary that few people have been able to fully understand from the news.
Too many economic changes at the same time, and people in this game (including me) are usually slow in asumming and adjusting to the new changes, and with a high tendency to overreact (and react illogically) to changes. Suddenly we had to deal with a enterely new situation, new formulas and what it seems a general feeling: we all think we have more money, more capacity to save money and pay higher salaries.

In addition to this, I think there is a second important problem that it is not new: Communication. BBs really need to hire a PR manager (joke, ;-)). The BB News are always hard to understand (and as a LA, I always need to read them several times to figure out what do you exactly want to say). They are too long, trying to tell too many things at the same time, and written in a language that tries to hide more than show (similarly to the BB rules). Maybe it is just my problem, but it is also the problem of some spanish users that first thought it was a traslation problem, and then went to the original version to discover the same hieroglyphic expressions.
