Do the minutes played in the NT games count towards the players weekly minutes?

Why should the team become weaker? You can use them in your league games without any problem, even if they're on the NT roster.

I believe it makes your team weaker in the long run as you need to focus training on this player requiring sometimes negative trade-offs with the team interest. But this is part of the game and a choice you can make.

Well 1 of my NT players is 6'3 PF, that he trained 2 seasons as big man, but he has very good outside skills Soon i will sell him to some1 else, that (i hope) is training guards. An other 2 seasons guard training and we have the starting SF for the NT for long time. You always have the choice.

Now for example i am coming from a small country, and every player is important for us, so every day i am checking the market for talented Cypriot bigs, to train. Nothing wrong with that, i help my team and i help my NT too.

& @ JohnnyB:

The majority of BB managers are coming from countries such as Spain, Italy, Poland, USA. In these countries there are 20 to 50 times more teams than in yours. As a consequence the density of talent is such that you cannot get your player in the NT without extremely focused use of resources. What is best to create a very skillful single player is not necessarily the best for the ligue team. This concern at least 2 areas:

1) Training (extensive use of one-position training; design of plan according to the needs of a single player)

2) Financial resources (distribution of salary vs total team performance; value creation through training)

Here an extreme example of a focused team. The player has the second highest salary in the Italian National Team which currently leading the BB world ranking (4211248). He is earning a salary about twice as high than his other 16 team mates in total. I agree, it's extreme and it is chosen to be didactic ;-)

I am not saying that you can not have success with your team while developing players for the NT. I just say it slows your team down and this effect is more and more important as countries are bigger.

1.) i would recommed to have trainees who need similiar training, with a bit variety and in this case this singleposition training is nothing to worry about.
Especially you could play him as Backup in the other game in the near position(normally PF or SG), which will coast you training with 2 position training, and on SF most trainees will have their problems(or at least mine)

2.) For centers that is right, but with guards you could make huge profit, with SF also.

I tend to disagree but this might be a matter of perspective. You have a well established team in a top-ligue with a team of many seasons of history. I play third ligue in the second season.

=> the difference in substance in the team requires different actions, I guess

What do you understand by huge profit?

I do train guards, I focus on these guys and they develop pretty well. However, the focus I give to them makes my tactics more & more predictable, all the quality is concentrating in a few players. If I decided to sell one now, profit would not be so huge and this would create a significant gap in the team which would require some significant reinvestment in a guard (money and time to get the same level of performance). The remaining resource would give only limited improvement to the section of my big guys.

It is an option to reduce the speed of development of the top performers and to develop selected skills in some other player to increase your tactical versatility. As a consequence, I will still have great guards but they will not be good enough for NT.

i made the same steps, but normally you could sell a guard and buy a little weaker one and also upgrade a Center(so yous ell two player and buy two). Maybe your new guard have to play a while on the scrimmage, but your "ex" scrimamge guard should be stronger then before and you get a better balanced team.

If you train all skills, you had to buy expensive young players and they loose in value every week they are not trained.

Right now i train 5 players. Selling 1 of them, and upgrading my guards, i am making profit, and still developing my players. Yea its hard to get a player on NT, but when you have a great player you have a great value that you can exchange them with players on the positions that you don't train. I am not planing to make mono training on the near future, but hey maybe a player is not good enough for the NT but we need good players in general. I think that the 1st goal of every team here is to win, and if you can help your NT too even better. I know also that are some NT farming teams, that they dont care to win, just to produce NT players
