I don't mean to be critical, but I am not sure Run and Gun was the best way of getting that kind of PD at NT level. Having said that, honestly I don't think any strat would have reached that, overall a good job of it and looking forward to seeing how we do in the next game.

Disappointed by today's result, even without the GDP we would have been overrun by a very strong Finnish squad. Gameshape wasn't the best for us which didn't help the team and although I may have not chosen the exact same lineup and would probably have filled the 12 spots for manager's merchandising the result would probably have been the same. Thanks for leading the team this far Zeus, did good to get to the knockouts mate.

NTs should always dress 12 players.

I've been unimpressed by the senior NT set up for a while now - poor finish to a poor campaign.

I get that our squad is unbalanced and a bit long in the tooth at times - but we're still underachieving.
I hope we have a new manager brining fresh energy to the table next season, who can protect our ranking for when some of the well coached U21s of recent vintage can break through to the senior squad.

Well, maybe if players had better than respectable game shape all season we would fair a little better. Not sure how losing to Finland at their place is a poor end to a 6-2 campaign when we're losing half the squad to age. We have less than 200 active managers in this country, i'm really not sure what you're expecting to see from England to be honest, i'm doing the best i can with a pretty dismal squad outside of Innes and Mac

In what areas are you unimpressed? Make some suggestions so we can all benefit.

You can only do the best you can with the players at your disposable. Its definitely a time of transition and as important as anything is to bring the next gen through.

The young guys on the teams would get beat by a 50+ points a game if they played.

I try to avoid commenting too much since I don't want to sound like ex England football managers who scream it was better when I was in charge, and I really hope that isn't going to be how I sound, but personally I'd never have said anything like that. I'm probably not the only slightly unhappy to have my player dismissed quite so harshly. Even though I myself have said its a sorry state for the NT when Fallon is a regular starter, I don't really feel like letting it pass without comment this time. He's not Connor Marshall, and nor would I ever pretend he was, he's not even Millar, but I'd like to think my years (real years) of effort with him resulted in better than dismal.

As I recall McDoughnut played fairly well for the NT under me. In fact I remember playing him ahead of MacAusland if I felt he suited the tactics better. I'm certain he's better than dismal too.

While I'm peed off I might as well go on. When I was tempted to buy McDonough recently one of the things I considered was whether I could afford his wages in those weeks where there's no scrimmage. And your liking for only picking 10 players when there's really no reason not to pick 12, especially when one of the fewer than 200 people in England are essentially doing the NT a favour by paying high wages.

Speaking of the fewer than 200 managers in England, I wonder how many of them even are aware of the results every week? They probably know more about the u21 results which do get mentioned on the forums.
