#82 Backcourt Bullies (III.13) vs #20 Kiwi Sheep Pimps (II.1)

Division III is still alive in the cup, in the form of the #82 Backcourt Bullies (28490). Manager po-fresh has had his team visit various local elementary schools and steal kids lunch money in order to prepare for this game. The Bullies are a young team, who have never come close to this round of the USA Tournament. Until now the Bullies have managed to avoid any higher division opponents in the Cup. With the best record in III.13, po-fresh must decide if its worth it to fight on in the cup, or to save his strength for a run at promotion.

It'll take more than a wedgie for the Bullies to defeat their Sweet 16 opponent, the #20 Kiwi Sheep Pimps (22913). Last week, in one of the more memorable cup games of all time, manager nuggetboy and the Pimps battled to a quadruple overtime victory over the E.C. High-Flyers in order to stay alive in the cup (38984428). With their game shape somewhat depleted and facing a potential relegation series in II.1, the Pimps will pray that this time the game ends in regulation.

Follow along with the game on Thursday, 8pm Eastern on 7110 BSPN Radio.

#1 Lake Merritt Arrows (NBBA) vs #76 Mortons Miners (III.14)

Coco and the #1 Lake Merritt Arrows (23075) mean business. Coco was quoted in the Oakland Tribune as saying, "My A-Team will be on for this game. His only hope is PCT vs PON plus injures, but that's not gonna happen. I'm gonna rip out Morton's heart and eat it in front of his children."

Well, maybe it won't be mission impossible for manager Mortons and the Miners. Last week the Miners defeated the NBBA's New York Jests in a thrilling double overtime battle (38984435) that saw Miners guard Vittorio Tiralongo (8864993) score 39 points in the winning effort. Clinging to #1 seed in the Great 8 of III.14, can Mortons risk more enthusiasm and potentially traumatizing his children?

We'll find out on Thursday, 8 pm Eastern, ESPN 8 the Ocho.

#2 Silverbacks (NBBA) vs #14 Reston Thumpers (NBBA)

Is it any surprise the Silverbacks (23223) are back in the Sweet 16? After back to back cup championships, manager SM appears to be going for it all this season. With a 16-1 record in the NBBA, SM is poised to contend for his first NBBA championship and a three-peat in the Cup. To pull it off, he'll need big games from USA National Team guard Dexter Dennison (9221766) and the newest addition to the Silverbacks, Daugotas Gincbergas (4748745).

SM's opponent this week is the NBBA's Reston Thumpers (23072). Manager ardain and the Thumpers have had a rough first season in the NBBA, currently on the downside of a 3 way tie for 6th place in the Big 8. Reaching the Cup Semifinals once in Season 9, ardain will need to work a minor miracle in order to return to the semifinal and beat the two time defending champions.

Can SM be stopped? Tune in Thursday, 8pm Eastern on HGTV to find out.

#20 Kiwi Sheep Pimps (II.1) vs #3 Chicago Bulls (NBBA)

The 5 time Cup Champion Bulls are back in the Elite 8. This season in the NBBA has been a tough one for manager stogey and the Bulls, who are currently in a three way tie for 4th place with an 8-11 record in the Big 8. Despite this, the Bulls have reloaded and are again showing the ratings that lead them to the Season 15 and 16 NBBA Finals. With the recent addition of big man Dennis Totengco (12187643) the Bulls will look to reach the Final Four of the cup for the first time since their cup finals appearance in Season 14.

Standing in stogey's way is manager nuggetboy and the Kiwi Sheep Pimps. Still fighting for survival at 8-11, the Pimps sit in 7th in II.1. Last week in the Sweet 16, the Pimps took care of the Bullies by a score of 108-79 (38996874). Now to advance to the Final Four these Kiwi Sheeps will have to upset arguably the best cup team in USA history.

Catch the game live, Thursday, 8pm Eastern as October Madness rolls on!

#31 Red Fort (II.1) vs #24 AirBallers (NBBA)

It's been quite a showing for II.1 in the Cup this season. Red Fort and conference mate Kiwi Sheep Pimps are the only Division II teams remaining in the Elite 8. In their Sweet 16 matchup, manager Boss and the Red Fort defeated 10inch Vertical 96-85 (38996871) led by Tibet Kaniye (8764448) a national team player for Makedonija. Still in good shape in 5th place in the Big 8, Red Fort is in good position to compete for a Final Four berth.

To get there they will have to defeat the NBBA's AirBallers. I sat down and had an interview with manager jfarb and he told me that the AirBallers were excited at the opportunity to reach the Final Four for the first time in team history. He also said that if they lose this game, it will undoubtedly be the fault of USA National Team guard Ricky Logsdon (6626006) who he described as a "useless overpaid dbag." His words not mine.

Come watch the game on Thursday, 8pm Eastern, 5pm Pacific, because you know you have nothing better to do.

#2 Silverbacks (NBBA) vs. #6 Burlington Mountain Goats

I'm taking a break from coaching our favorite U21 team to check in on the always competitive and aptly named USA Tournament. Actually, come to think of it, its our only U21 team.

In what has to be the highlight of the Quarterfinals, the two time defending champs take on last years runner-ups the Burlington Mountain Goats. SM looks to extend his win streak to 3 straight seasons, besting the now defunct Heathens and coming within in 1 ring of King Drive Baller's 4 straight record. The Silverbacks enter the match on a somewhat low note after exiting the B3 tournament with a loss Greece's Thrylos BC (89014). Additionally, star guard Billy Polt (9335176) is out with a one week injury after suffering night terrors following the B3 loss. USA NT standout Dexter Dennison (9221766) will have to shoulder a greater load in the back court for the Great Apes to prevail.

Meanwhile, Wozzvt has no doubt been studying the tape and slicing and dicing the stats like a ginsu knife in an effort to overcome last year's loss. Despite sitting in 7th place in the NBBA, the Goats of the Burlington Mountain are only one game out of 3rd place and have plenty of gas left in the tank. New transfer John Frydenberg (4811373) probably won't be able to go this week after stubbing his toe while stumbling around his hotel room in the dark. Nevertheless, the Goats will be led by a plethora of swingmen and long time twin towers and national team standouts down low with Raúl Villapadierna (8010023) and Alfonso Céspedes (6015317).

Will SM continue his unstoppable run despite Polt's absence? Will Wozzvt get over the hump and become the G.O.A.T. or falter and become the goat? Swing by Thursday at 8 PM to find out!

#1 Lake Merritt Arrows (NBBA) vs. #10 That's What She Said (NBBA)

In the second NBBA match-up of the night, the formerly named Cocololomomo looks to move closer towards doubling his USA Tournament while namssor aims to play the spoiler.

Coco and his band of merry men are currently the #1 ranked team in the country and are enjoying a busy season atop the NBBA rankings. Coco declined to be interviewed for The Tournament coverage pointing out that he was slammed juggling a B3 competition, USA Tournament battle and NBBA playoff stretch run. After the USA Tournament and B3 wrap up the Lake Merritt Arrows will look to stop the trend of trading NBBA championships with the Chicago Bulls and finally get that second trophy in a row. The Arrows of Merritt Lake are led by foul king Dimitris Agaliotis (12597386) and USA U21 swingman Brad Rodriguez (16433511) (who better be in good game shape by Friday!!).

Namssor is no stranger to high level competition. The former long time New Zealand NT coach, USA NT Assistant Coach and current U21 Senior Advisor definitely has the background to pull off the upset. That's What She Said has quietly chugged along in the NBBA this season, carefully balancing the Tournament with the ultra competitive Big 8 Conference. TWSS is led by the wide eyed Wong Vi Hung (12150165). In a rare interview granted by namssor I had a chance to ask a little bit more about his star guard.

R - "So tell me a little about Wong. What is it about him that stands out the most?"
N - "Oh that's easy. He's probably only worth a couple million dollars but I splurged on him because of his name."
R - "Wong Vi Hung?"
N - "That's what she said!!"
R - "Uh I'm not sure that's how it works nams"

Come out and watch the game this Thursday at 8:00 pm and see if that really is what she said.
