thanks for the replies

if you usualy play "sit them", when do choose otherwise?
would you still sit them in an important playoff game when its "win or go home"?

I almost always set it on "Let Them Play" the only time I would consider otherwise would be the playoffs but I still do LTP. I do it because I want my minutes and I have chosen players who normally don't have an issue with fouls.

Now one of your earlier comments is you have seen players pick up 4 early fouls and then none for the rest of the game so it doesn't seem to be a concern. Yes they can avoid getting their 5th and 6th fouls and stay in their game but the more fouls a player has the weaker his defense will be because he cannot play as aggressively. The GE factors in fouls just like in real life that if a player is in foul trouble he will be more cautious with his actions thus allowing some players to score on him that he would usually stop if he had no fouls.

In scrimmages, when I have a guy who needs to play the whole 48 mins, I "let them play".

For big time games, it depends. If I'm playing a better team and absolutely need my best guys out there to level the field, then it may be worth risking "let them play". It also depends on your players, if they are prone to fouling or not. If your team doesn't commit many fouls then it's a smaller risk letting them stay out there

That's interesting, has this been proven? I didn't know the GE would go that far to simulate foul trouble.

i donb't think that it is proven, but i believe it too - would also make sense in combination with their reduced defence the engine gives player in foultrouble.
