OK... cool. Let's discuss.

My point is - this is an issue that's bigger than JUST Nippon. Additionally have you actually checked what my belief is, or have you simply made assumptions? I'm guessing it's the latter - as whilst I am not interested in a wholesale merge, neither do I think it's a viable option for BB to simply sit idle and let micro nations ail then disappear.
I regard your opinion as far more valid than those from large nations telling us what our experience should be (for the most part, it's based on a misguided jealousy regarding $$$).
I'd be fine with some of the suggestions made here by members of other smaller nations:

Some ideas...
- Having top leagues as a local conglomerate. The top 3 divisions are regional (for us, Asia), but there's a feeder system from individual micros/smaller nations - retaining our nations, yet competiting in a more active environment.
- Having a second tier for smaller nations in regards to National Competitions. Two or three tiers, win your group (or finish... top 5?), you go up. Have a system of promotion/relegation.
- reworking the system of entry points for new players, ensuring that they get a competitive experience when they first join (note: that doesn't necessarily mean playing against players - usually MUCH stronger teams - but having the opportunity to win early). I'd suggest that joining BB and getting worked over every week is a far greater reason as to why BB can't sustain growth than ensuring mid-to-end-game competitiveness (or did we do that already? I know I've been suggesting it for years)...

From reading here, it seems like the majority of those who are *for* this move are from nations that it doesn't even impact. Those from smaller nations seem to be split, but the majority (certainly not vast) tend to not want the straight-Utopian-merge, but something which allows them to participate in what *could* be the best of both worlds.

My main concern is that this is merely a bandaid over a gaping wound, with the lifeblood of BB pouring out. Anyone who sees this as the primary concern for Buzzerbeater at the moment isn't seeing the forest for the trees.

Something like

'Asia' Div. IV.Japan, Div.IV.Iran etc. etc. They could have Asia Div.IV.Japan.1 ......2 etc. if we get a bit bigger....

Something like that might be codable...you'd have to ask Marin I guess. Having the idea out for them to select from is good though.

If you 'promote' then you go up and you are mixed leagues then. If you demote you go into your nation grouping.

That's pretty much what I'm suggesting...

As far as I know this is how a few Balkan nations are organized in Basketball real life.

and if your nation grouping is full (for whatever the reason) you kick someone down?

or if there is no low division you kick him out of the game?

Meh

Howl to the Moon, you won't regret it.

Yes, the promotion/demotion would be an issue, but not an unsolvable one.. They worked with lateral movement in Utopia too.

Says a guy who doesn't even PLAY in a small nation (SMH moment, right there). SAME AS IT IS NOW, DUDE. SAME AS IT WOULD BE IF THEY MERGED NATIONS. Seeing as you don't know, I'll explain: you play at the next spot available.
