I think that the BBs just have to decide to give HCA to middling teams and not to powerhouses, this would solve the problem.

Check the Suggestions they are important

I hate to bump an old thread, but I want to point out how exciting this year's U21 championship is.

With one game left in round two:
- 6 teams are still in the mix for the final 4.
- 3 teams still have a chance at the top seed for the semi-finals.
- There are a ton of crazy scenarios for how the final week will play out as all 6 top teams have a realistic chance at the title, and therefore have to weigh the effort options carefully.
- No one has been able to completely run away with this while TIE'ing every match.

Had any of the top 6 teams (or probably even France/Brazil) had HCA, I don't think we'd be getting such an interesting, exciting u21 WC.

Btw - how about not only showing "last matches" but also "next matches" in the overview? Would help increasing the informational aspect and it´s quite key to know who´s gonna play which opponent on the last day anyways.

Just a random fact

By the way, the teams that this season have HCA, some of them lost matchs also. I don't see any reason to remove HCA.

Senegal is the only team that had HCA in this WC, and (no offense meant here) they're not in the same class as the rest of the teams. In fact, one of the solutions I proposed was to give HCA to teams that aren't really in the mix for the finals. That's what happened this time around, and so I was just pointing out how well it has worked.

At the same moment in last NT WC:
- 5 teams had chance to win medal
- 3 teams had chance to gain seed #1 before semis
- at least 4 teams had realistic chance to win title (in current U21 WC, not more than 5 teams have realistic chance to win tournament, You made mistake in calculations).
I don't see big difference ;-) Little differences are always possible because of schedule, strategy, mistakes of NT managers (e.g. China destroyed enthusiasm before first round of current U21 WC), good luck or bad luck (game shape, injuries), etc.

Err, I know this is a bit of a personal issue for you guys, but at this time last year, there was 1 team in contention for gold, as evidenced by your 45 point semi-final win, and 22 point final win. There wasn't anyone even close.

So, kudos and congratulations. But this year's U21 WC is way more entertaining.
