Right... I thought only my 76 year olds' need a bit warming up, but seemingly I was mistaken xD

As you guys already know, I don't like the idea that managers could play as many PU's as they feel like (during Monday or Friday), and then send the match result of their choice to their HGL Scores-thread post - this practice now implemented will practically prevent that possibility.

This is one of the reasons why we have only one designated match time, that is defined before HGL season begins, and then this link will remain the same for the whole season. I will likely transfer all your box score links to official schedule, before or just after Season 1 has started (again, a somewhat arduous project that might have to wait for other, more important things to get finished before it'll get my attention).
This is one of the reasons why it is important that all your box score link posts are totally correct, have correct correct opponents in them played in correct days, do not include dupliicate matches or lack any opponents, and that match box score links are same in your both schedules, your opponents' and yours.
If I can't feel confident things are as they're supposed to be (like has been the case this season), it will cause more work for me as I have to check out every matchup link separately from every teams box score posts, on other words twice per one match instead of once (that means 240 links instead of 120).
As an example in Round 11 HEY vs. HAD do both have different links on supposedly same match - only Svätý Jur Snakers match time is correct.

Speaking of your match that you mentioned, Deano25 needs to change correct link to his HGL schedule on your meeting (currently two times the same link on different rounds, with wrong match time on both), and make those other corrections to schedule (as mentioned in my posts in HGL Scores-thread).
He hasn't yet answered to my posts on official HGL Scores thread, but likely will do that soon, so we can then proceed with partial re-inviting on some of his HGL matches. I have already informed him on HGL Scores thread what match times are wrong, and are waiting for his response so that we can make sure he will make partial re-invitings at correct time (and therefore doesn't lose any more tokens than necessary - I wouldn't even mind gifting him those tokens but seemingly it's not possible, and luckily we're only talking about like 6 tokens or so).

I checked that all times that are wrong in his schedule, are invites sent by him, so he will again send those invites unless someone wants to help him save some tokens and do the challenging themselves (but it would be recommendable for Deano25 to send new challenges himself - on the other hand I don't care who has actually sent the challenge as long as match is played on correct time).
Luckily we are not talking about 1st match of the Season 1 that includes a problem (but instead first one is on Round 2), so theoretically we could get the league running and fix the issue before Round 2 matches. But let's try to get this corrected before HGL actually starts on next Monday.

TOP 8 Salaries and Seeds to Start Season 1 of the HGL

NOTE: TOP 8 Salaries: As promised, I have calculated the salaries of the TOP 8 players from every team as of today, 3rd of April 2025. Some teams had players for sale. Each of these players (who were among their top 8) had bids on them or would have bids on them...so I did not include them. SEEDS: I have then ranked the teams (seeding them) according to their TOP 8 total salaries. This is just for a bit of fun.

SEED / Team / Top 8 Salaries / Manager / Country / Division

1 / Svaty Jur Snakers / $639k / Hadar / Slovensko / Div II.2
2 / Santa Eufemia Ducks / 637k / GM-Enzo / Argentina / Div II.3
3 / Heywood Big Dogs / $520k / Deano25 / Australia / Div II.2

TOP 8 Salaries and Seeds to Start Season 1 of the HGL

Thanks very much MrJ!
It's always very interesting to see some new data, especially as it's as essential (in prediction of future success) as this! It will be interesting to compare this listing of yours to the HGL Season 1 regular season success, and see how many spots some teams can climb up or will fall down, compared to this salary table ranking/seeding!

I will also publish before season (if time permits, only few days until the beginning!) the information on which teams have purchased back their previously owned players, and how much impact does it have on their current salaries (vs. the moment when they first sold the players in question). I also should add this information provided by you to the team information pages (in the beginning of both official HGL threads), when I have time to do that.

As for other comparisons, it would be exciting to be able to gather at least some team stats from box scores, but I don't know if that would prove to be too much work. Just an idea, and if someone has an easy way in mind on how to implement that simply, please let me know. :)

Yes... I already sent Chucarro and Moneta BBMail to remind them about the requirement of sending box score posts before Season 1 starts. As mentioned, also 6 re-arrangements of matches (and correction of faulty schedule and Round 11 box score link) are needed from Deano25 (but first one needing that is on Round 2, so there's no panic).

I didn't think about that but you're absolutely right. We need to set schedules and send all official boxscores now so we don't have do doubt any result.

Yes, that's one of, and actually most important benefit.
Other benefits include for instance results being available instantly after match ends, and we don't have to rely on managers doing that quickly after round has ended.
I can't guarantee that it will make league table updating faster on my end though, but theoretically it can cause that benefit as well.
MrJ still didn't reply to my questions on possibilities/editability/functionality of Playpass, so that if someone (who visits BB even more frequently all year around) else would like to update league tables, they could do so. (I think I might need to keep an official record too, though). We just need to see if it's possible to use for instance user defined point values for wins, losses, etc. in Playpass - I would be surprised if not as also in real life there's huge difference how different sports league award points for different outcomes, but on the other hand I guess Playpass offers a paid version as well (of course I don't suggest using that) that might offer more functionality(?).

Sorry, I thought my previous comment was clear. What you are asking...Playpass cannot do. I was offering it as a ready-to-go and simple way of displaying the league games, the results and the usual statistics you find in real basketball leagues.

So, if you want it for 'defined point values' etc, you will need to look at another program.

With that said, I will still put all of our results into Playpass, provide everyone with the link, and for those who would like to view it (a simple view) they are welcome to.

Only 3 days until HGL starts!

What's new:
1. Roster check finished yesterday. If nobody has intentionally become non-HG team after yesterday, all teams will be HGL eligible at April 7th when Season 1 starts (as players from Swan River Serpents and Rajdersi will get sold before that)!
2. Season 1 schedule check finished. Found few problems (mentioned below, check them out), but I will let all matches that are off maximum of 1 hour from the correct/designated HGL match time be as they are, so in those occasions no further actions are required.

EDIT: many of issues already corrected by 4.4.2025 at 17.00EET, but condensed and most updated list of things to do is found from here: (326589.68).

What is still required from some managers:

1. @Chucarro and @Moneta: send box score posts to official HGL Scores Thread (BBMail sent to you both).
2. @Deano25: you need to re-schedule 6 matches in your HGL schedule that start at 12.30 EET DST.
Matches that are starting 15.30 EET DST (Eastern European Time, Daylight Savings Time) on your schedule, in other words those matches starting 3 hours later than your problematic matches, are scheduled to start at correct times.
I have written about this in official scores-thread, for instance in this post: (326589.44). As mentioned, if you are unsure about that correct time, you can re-arrange one match of your choice (out of those problematic 6), then send me BBMail or post on official thread and I'll see how it appears in your schedule.
However, you have few correct times on matches in where you've been responsible for sending challenge, and as your official designated HGL match time is 10.30PM local time, I suspect that you've used that in your correctly timed challenges.
3. @Deano25: You have wrong opponents in your box score posts for rounds 9 (should be ED) and round 10 (should be TRO). For Round 11 against Svätý Jur Snakers, you need to change your match link; replace it with a box score link already provided by Hadar in his schedule, as that match is played at correct time. So please also correct both of these.
4. @all managers that have problematic starting time (12.30PM EET DST) with Heywood Big Dogs (Deano25), you need to correct your links on your box score post after Deano25 has sent you new challenge on correct time and you have accepted it
5. Wagner needs to provide the rest of rules and penalties before Season 1 starts. (Sounds like a daunting task - luckily I'm not Wagner.... oh, wait.. ;P ;) Having said that, I might reserve the right to add some detail to the full rule package during Season 1, in the case they wouldn't change important things significantly. The amount of preliminary work has caught me off guard, so I have not had time to concentrate on rules/penalties at all lately.
6. Not urgent or absolutely necessary, but in order to make it easier for me it would be ideal to stick within certain style when writing box score posts. In this case I've so far noticed couple of things: Deano25 could perhaps use European format (day/month/year) and Gccsteel could add a year to his listing after each match.

Matches that need to be organized and changed:
1. Some of Deano25's matches (6 matches that start at 12.30PM EET DST), as you all can see from official schedule it's officially Deano's responsibility to send all those challenges. (Like mentioned, it doesn't matter if their opponent wants to organize those matches, if Deano25 would be low on tokens, as long as they are played in correct time).
Problematic matches seem to be at
-Round 2 vs. LGM
-R3 vs. BIG
-R6 vs. SED
-R7 vs. WMO
-R8 vs. BUC
-R9 (wrong opponent in schedule; in ED's schedule wrong match time; 12.30)
-R10 (wrong opponent in schedule)
-R11 vs. HAD (only problematic link in Deano25's schedule - Deano: change link)
-R12 vs. SUM

Ok, I think I have sent appropriate timed games to the managers who I needed to send adjusted times to (though apparently I sent one that I already had correct). It is currently 1:20am Friday morning here, I've just come back from running a three day camp for the school I work at and I have work tomorrow, but I'm trying to get things in order as specified and to be frank finding things buried in the threads of these forums is frustrating at the best of times, let alone when I'm half asleep.

We are so close to the start of the season, so I want to make sure I do what is required of me to get it to run because of the work everyone has put into it, but if you have another team who is interested in taking part next year please give them my place. We haven't even hit round one yet and I'm hating seeing the little notification pop up that there is chat in the forum that requires my attention.

As I've mentioned before, this is a game and if it feels onerous it has ceased to be a game for me. I don't agree with the level of detail around times - when we play Consolation Cup with the National teams Australia's games are ALWAYS played hours before everyone else and each round is stretched across almost the full 24-hour spread and yet it seems to work just fine. But if the majority of managers want to play it that way, so be it.
If we have too many games scheduled it is because I've tried to schedule them, stuffed up the time and rescheduled the game. In no way would it be to gain an edge - I mean, who would bother to do that? What would that say about your character as a person if you truly tried to run multiple games against another opponent to try and engineer a result to win a fantasy, online basketball match?

To me, running a Home Grown team is just somehting I've been doing for a long time to see if I could.
Once everyone has accepted the updated times I'll update the links and the season can play out then I'm out.
