I'm just under $5 mil in the hole. One transaction I don't see pn my page. A few seasons ago I "rented" a player for the playoffs. Paid around $1.5 mil for him. When the season was done I sold him and got about $2.5 mil. But with only getting about 60% of that I kind of broke even. I unloaded him quick because he was making around $96 K a week. Eating me alive so I couldn't keep him around. Hadn't planned on it either. I had a reserve and hoped he would help me win. Obviously not. LOL

Ouch - that's pretty rough. I did that once or twice in the days before the GS hit upon transfer. I think the trick was making sure you will win with that extra player!

I'm the worst moaner in BB, i'm sure of it. But seriously, another 2 early injuries in this game? One multi-week injury to another key player? I mean, I've got a half-decent doctor now, what else can I do?

I saw that, and checked after the game. I'm glad they both weren't multi week injuries. The game would have gone differently I think had they not gotten hurt. Sorry about that, but happy for the win at the same time.

That is the kind of loss that stays with you and aggravates you the rest of the season usually. But in the grand scheme won't hurt your playoff chances.

I read something in the USA forums about two weeks ago about how it seems that the managers that complain about injuries seem to get more injuries after expressing frustration

Well, we have crossed the halfway point of the season so I thought I'd take a crack at the power rankings again. So, without further ado:

Top Three

1. Funky Town Fire (10-2, L1) - The fire is back! Which is great news for the Funky Town Fire, but bad news for the rest of the league. Separating the top three was a tough task as all three teams are pretty much neck and neck. However, the Funky town Fire has played like the best team in the league, with their only two loses coming as a result of resting their stars against much weaker opponents, and some unfortunate injuries. Boasting a star-studded team, they seem like the early favorite to win the league title.
Upcoming games: vs #2 Lightning Hoopers, @ #7 Divers
2. Blaserz (11-1, W10) - The Blaserz are the highest scoring team in the league, and their high octane offense is running through opponents as we've come to expect, They currently have the longest active streak in the league at 10 straight wins; their only loss coming early in the season at the hands of the Funky Town Fire. Their backcourt remains their staple, but some recently added depth makes them a well-balanced team that will be tough to stop. They will, however, be tested when they go on the road to take on the Crusty Crustaceans.
Upcoming games: vs #5 Floridas Legends, @ #1 Crusty Crustaceans
3. Crusty Crustaceans (11-1, W1) - Another powerhouse team led by MVP Neil Hook, the Crustaceans are not disappointing. Although they've been without a key starter for a while, they've shown no signs of slowing down. Their GM, however, hasn't logged on in about 2 weeks - cause for concern?
Upcoming games: @ #6 Bronx Bootleggers, vs #1 Blaserz

Next Tier

4. Winking Mares (8-4, L1) - Very solid team and playoff contender. For some reason, the Mares remind me of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, idk why haha. But the question for this team is not about the talent, but rather, can they get over the hump and make a serious push in the playoffs?
Upcoming games: @ #8 Blue Barkers, vs. #3 Javamen
5. Lightning Hoopers (9-3, W4) - Still coming off of a disappointing loss in the finals last season, the Hoopers look to rebound from a slow start to this season and finally make a push. They have the key pieces to do so, and with a bit more depth they can go back to being serious contenders. Tough matchup ahead though taking on the Fire on the road.
Upcoming games: @ #2 Funky Town Fire, vs #7 Rayados
6. GODS AND GODDESSES (8-4, W1) - The G&G seem to have finally found their groove and are playing great team basketball right now. They have a very young and talented core, led by Angeloni and Casaus, who should keep them competing for several seasons to come.
Upcoming games: @ #3 Javamen, vs #4 Heat_Miami_23
7. Javamen (7-5, W2) - Always staying in the mix, the Javamen arguably have the deepest bench in the league. Team is solid, filled with many role players that keep this team playoff bound. This team has a tough couple of upcoming games though.
Upcoming games: vs #3 GODS AND GODDESSES, @ #4 Winking Mares
8. Floridas Legends (7-5, W4) - The legends are actually on a bit of a roll, having won their last 4 games. This is one team that I'm sure wishes could be in the Big 8, where they'd probably be a fourth seed in the playoffs.
Upcoming games: @ #1 Blaserz, vs #8 Blue Barkers

Knocking on the Door

9. Texas Ligers (5-7, W1) - Get the sole honor here for defeating the Funky Town Fire, regardless of the Fire resting their stars.
Upcoming Games: @ #7 Rayados, vs #6 Bronx Bootleggers
