Here's an honest question - do Canadians, in general, like, dislike, or don't care about the label "Great White North"?

Mostly I think we don't care in my part if the country. Not to sure what they think in the East. I'm fairly certain the label came from Canada in the first place so I don't think most people here really dislike it, but I might me wrong.

It is still a misconception, I think. Most of Canada has nothing to do with it...
Well, most of the populated Canada, not territorially speaking ;)

Offhand, I can't think of any terms for Canada or Canadians that Canadians generally take offense to.

Actually, I can now... but best not to get into it.

True, but I guess the question is: Do you care even if it is a misperception?

I don't, especially in light if the fact that there was still snow in my yard yesterday leftover from the blizzard a week ago :)

That's gross.

I live in New England and we've finally shed the snow.

I was going to suggest GWNL.

It was even worse then you think, I was actually snowed in for 2 days because the snow was 8 feet high in front of my garage door and I couldn't get my car out. I had no idea the snow would drift like that when I built it.

I think I would actually like the name GWNL, but I'm not to sure about everyone else. It's distinctive at least.

How about "Maple I" or "All Canadian/Canadiene Primiere" (Pardon my French)

I could care less what it's called as long as it's something more creative and defining than 1.1

It could even be something as simple as Canadian National League (CNL)

Meh, I'd rather stick with the default if there's not a good idea.. just choosing something for the sake of not having I.1 doesn't work for me.

I'm still partial to my "Naismith League" idea... classy, distinctly Canadian, not generic (like All-Canadian or Canadian National League).... who's with me?
