We are now through the first 3rd of the season. The league is starting to shake out a bit.

So lets start with the bad news... It looks like the Knickerbocker are going to go bot fairly soon. The league will miss them!

The good news... we have 15 active owners who have logged in within the last week.

So where are we sitting right now, I guess I will start with the Great 8... as I am more familiar with them.

Blood Kings - Currently leading the standings. They are playing solid offense but currently have the #2 defense in points. Hopefully this will be enough. I think that the conference will be decided when the Blood Kings play the Skinny Dudes for the second time at the end of the season.

Skinny Dudes - Recently demoted from DIV III and is playing excellent basketball. They have the #1 offense and the #5 defense. This makes them a dangerous combination. A single misstep by the Blood Kings and they will take the #1 position.

UBulls - A middle offense but the #4 defense, makes them a tough team to play. They were beating the Blood Kings at half time, so they are a dangerous ball club and will be in the running at the end of the season.

The Coolness Factor - They are playing great defense, but their offense is not putting up points. If their offense starts to run along better, they are going to be extremely dangerous.

Arlandria Rockers - At the beginning of the season, I had them ranked with the 4th slot. But I think they are going to drop to 5 or 6 by the end of the season. They have a few key players older players that may impact their season later on.

Planograms - Has a top notch center, but is missing the depth to be competitive in Div III. A few acquisitions to balance the roster out a bit and they could be dangerous.

Knickerbockers - Were caught possibly cheating and their roster got gutted. Looks like they will go bot in a bit.

Cyborgs - Looks like they are in full rebuilding and training mode. They do have a warchest, so they could surge up into 7th place later in the season and make a run at staying in Div 3.

On to the Big 8

Illinois Riveters - Are currently leading the Big 8 standings due to aggressive play against their main rivals. They have a good roster, but their rivals are right their with them. They showed a weakness against the outside shooting game of the Golden Bear, but otherwise have been very solid. They are playing a upper middle offense and the #1 defense. Which will make them tough in the long run.

shm - They are going to give the Riveters a good run for the their money down the stretch. The Rivateers put more effort into their last meeting and got a victory at home. When they meet again, it could be a different story. Upper middle offsend and the #3 defense makes them a nightmare match for most teams.

TicTacShack - Playing a solid offense but with a middle tier defense, they are going to struggle against the top scoring teams in the league. They will probably be a top 4 Big 8 team at the end of the season.

GoldenBear - Their teams should be named 'The Downtown Bears'. They have a very good outside attack, but their defense has more holes than swiss cheese. Will the offense be enough to keep them in the top 4 on the Big 8? I am not sure.

Forza Juventus - They are my pick for #4 slot in the Big 8. They have a solid roster even if it is struggling a bit. They have an age issue, but have been consistently turning that over as needed. Will it be enough to get and keep the #4 slot. We will have to see.

Defenseless Babies - Their team name is apt this season. They are going to need to either score more points or get a better defense to allow them a chance to stay out of the relegation games.

Stanton Stallions - Has an excellent young roster. If they can survive relegation this year... they are going to be a far better team next season.

AU Tigers - They are going to need to do some re-tooling this season to survive in Div III. If they do not make any changes, they will probably demote.
