Thanks!

Morgand (13643630) Will be a vital piece of the NT for years to come though, had a lot of good training this season.

Both of these players are overpriced, i'll be surprised if either sell. Maybe MacIssac. Fingers crossed for a good coach!

With the plummiting of prices of these high end players these days, one would wonder if training players are worthwhile anymore (with cost for coaches, scouting good youngster, etc.)

I would agree. It seems the lower level teams can easily train high primary studs with high salaries, so they're a dime a dozen, and there's a limit to how much salary can be paid.
The top teams have only really trained to make unique players for the last few seasons (in my experience). Making that SF which fits your tactics. You'll see a top SF going for $5m+ even in todays market (US one went for $5.3m last night). Some like to train PFs so they have the PS and OD that they want to make him elite.

Personally I enjoying training SF/PG type guys at the moment. I've put a lot of effort into secondaries (ID and IS on PG e.g.) to try and gain an advantage. It's all training which is a pain in the ass, and therefore it's worth more.

Yes, perhaps. But has anyone do the maths. on how much it will cost to make this unique player in terms of money? And bear in mind your league performance suffers as well if you do training (I lost to Aberdon and playoff home advantage trying to train my players).

Hi Guys,

It looks as though MacAy will be retired if someone doesnt buy him. He still has a role to play in the NT IMO, the best ID anyway.

Attention anyone that wants to train an NT player! (Better merchandise and kudos!)

Coll MacQuisten is on sale. 18 yo superstar. Skills good enough to make it. Only $200k right now!

Do it! I can help direct training if need-be, he could be an absolute killer PF.

Next season, I'm going to be looking for an 18 year old Scottsman, with All-star- (preferable) Perennial AS- Superstar Potential. I'd like a 4 to 5K starting salary. I can work with size.

Calum, I'd like to help you on your national team U21 team. I plan on being around for a long time.

How much do you think 1 of those will run me?

Hi mate, why are you only targeting all star/PA? It is incredibly unlikely that such a player could be a force at NT level (maybe SF).

Say you go for superstar or better, a half decent trainee would start at around 200k, with the best possible going for a million. the 200k level would probably be sufficient to train a Scottish NT Guard or C (assuming well trained with lvl 5 trainer).

What kind of budget do you think you might have?

Crap. I thought this was for the U21s. I'd really like a superstar, to keep building him for the NT. I could probably get up to half a million, depending on how my cup run goes, and whether or not I promote (which looks pretty good right now).

I've learned a lot of about training, Adams has turned out nicely on my team, despite not know much to start. (He came with the team). Stanley Morgan would be sooo much better, if he hadn't been hurt for 4 weeks in both of his 18 and 19 year old seasons.

Currently I'm working on this player, this is his 2nd season with me.

Stanley Marino (was to be my PF, may have to settle for SF)

Not bragging, just showing what I've done. I use a level 4 trainer. I fired him at the end of last season and will be adding a new one this season. How important is it that I get a level 5 trainer?

ideally you'd want a lvl 5 (superior) trainer but it's not that big of a bonus. I think it's something like a 10% bonus over a lvl 4, so you can make your own call on that. a lvl 4 certainly wont hinder you from making an NT player with proper 1 position training etc. If it's trainer vs top scottish trainee though, i'd say trainee every time.

I'll keep my eyes out for guys going on sale and i hope people will continue to post here if they're selling scottish.

good luck to you!
