Either the game is about the regular season or the playoffs. Your argument would also apply to those teams that win the playoffs at the expense of teams that were better than them during the regular season, so I find it irrelevant. The game is all about the post season. The regular season is just a prelude. As it is in all real sports that have a playoff system.

I agree 100% with jokeru. Playoff performances should count for more. Only use regular season performance to decide which runner up promotes.

Though of course personally I'd rather see us go back to just the division winners promoting.

I agree with previous speacher. The fifth promoted team might on paper sound like a good idea but in reality it is poor. The team that promotes tends to be from the weakest league rather than getting unlucky. Does not sound like a fair way of promoting a team.

In my opinion, the rule is as it should be, total fair and fine. Give a reward for a team that was best during the whole season, 22 games.

This is where we hold them!

I am not against the idea of promoting two teams from a league though but there must be a better way then. In fact I would very much like the Swedish league system to be changed to a smaller structure with only two division II leagues and 4 division III leagues and if so promote two teams per league to fill the spot for four relegated teams from the higher division. In large countries it will probably work very well with a multiple of 4 but when there are less than 100 teams it is not working well.

The second promoted team would ideally be the loser of the playoff final with promotion money being less than for the playoff winner. Promoting due to most wins in regular season still does not attract me. The benefit from home advantage is large and if still not succeeding it is such poor luck that anyone can get.
