but normally you need more money to spend for your players wages (better players to keep up with get better paid) so that there shouldn't be too much more to spend on tranfers. and those players you need to improve your team are expensive (most likely more expensive than those players you needed to move up the latter).

in my opinion you can't just always buy the market just because you are in the top division. or you just should not. ;o)

I have a profit of 36k pr. week right now. That means I have to stop in my tracks, unable to get better. Where is the point in that. Lay down and stop winning?

My team (and i am not an exception) has barely had a weekly profit in the last 2-3 seasons. And do not get till the cup or the playoff finals (meaning that I have 3 weeks a season without income).
So yes, maybe it's time for you too to "enjoy" the "where is my money?" part.

But don't worry, you still make more (or lose less) money than your opponents :)

I am trying to catch up to him, and I think I will be at his level in some seasons. I have profit of more than 200k a week, mainly because I have a relatively low salary.
I think there should be a gap, but I don't think it has to be widening exponentially (I know don't want this either just making it clear).
If the best team, whether it's Danish Lakers, BC Törööö, Sharman Globetrotter etc. if they didn't make any mistakes the teams behind shouldn't be able to catch up. Even if they played perfectly.
On the other hand if the top teams made just the smallest mistake, it would make it possible for the other teams to catch up. The top teams shouldn't have a larger margin of mistakes just because they are ahead.
I hope my post makes sense. Just wanted to share my opinion.

I think we're on the same page on this one. You will have a top team. You are doing great and have worked your way up. You can collect funds now with low salery and when you have collected enough. You can make a run and wait for my mistakes like you wrote. Untill then, I will expect you to fight with everything you got to knock me off. But I still think I should have way more fans and attendance than you based on the last 3 seasons wich is again my original post topic. I look foward to the challenge as I see that you do indeed have a great potential!

Then you must be doing something wrong, just like me at times, or maybe you have some massive players you have trained and that you are ready to cash in on. I have been trying to unload a heavy salery hitter, but my point is still, that based on winning record, it's not real that the trophyhunting I have had (wich is due to hard hard work might I add) have resulted in that low attendance at the beginning of the season....

you have a big boost on attendance, whenyou don't make any faults and still playing with a clean balance like today ;)

Last season i made nearly 40% income if i win my away game before the home game, in my eyes your boost is to high and not too low.

I don't see why you should have an advantage over other teams playing in the same division. As GM-koz pointed out, by continuing to win you're earning about $1 million more than any other team in your division. You can't have more STHs than everyone else in your division as a consequence of winning; they would be disadvantaged for an entire season at a time because each loss would cost them more in game revenue (STHs come back after you lose, but regular ticketholders take a powder until your winning ways return). This, on top of the fact that they are already losing more than you are.

In any event, the game is not set up to reward your team the way a winning team would be rewarded in real life. Sure, the Lakers are the hottest ticket in town; they also have to deal with inconsistencies in their players and team chemistry that can't be replicated in a game where player performance is based on a limited set of skills that are represented by values between 0 and 20. Plus they have a salary cap and an economic situation that fluctuates from year to year. That's why the "hottest ticket in town" spent the last seven years trying to crowbar their way through the first round of the playoffs. And if you're a fan like me, the five years before Shaq's arrival are completely forgettable.

I suspect one reason you're so unhappy is because free agents aren't going to be around anymore, and they were a fairly good source of trade revenue for you. As someone who hasn't been playing the game long enough to enjoy the benefits of day-trading, rampant free-agent acquisitions and other hi-jinks previously used by managers to get ahead, I can't sympathize too much. I appreciate that you've used the tools available to you skilfully, but if the utility of those tools is ended because you've hit a cap, you should be prepared to innovate again rather than stand on your old (unusable) methods.

I think your post hits the nail on the head. Free Agent acquisition and subsequent resale has been a cash cow for teams with the startup capital to get involved. Since only players with a salary of $xxxxx were listed, low level teams could not take part, thus allowing another avenue for rich to get richer.

I would be really interested to see a mean, median, and mode of the bank accounts of all 50000+ teams in BB.
