I voted against for none of those reasons. I like the one team per person idea. For example, I'm torn whether I should start training with my team, or should stick with my strategy of not training and maximizing my money to buy players. If I get a secondary team, I definitely won't change my strategy with my primary team, and will simply use my secondary team to enjoy the training aspect of the game. In other words, the second team will effect what strategies I use for my primary team. And I won't run my secondary with what I perceive to be the best strategy, but will use it to do things I'm not able to do with my primary team. With one team per person, using one strategy, is the death of trying out other strategies. It adds risk and makes the game more interesting, in my opinion. There is no back up team, no fall back plan.

Agreed. The only way to have a second team and divert this would be to make a "World League". Seeing as only supporters would be in it, the setup would be very different (i.e. economy etc).

Great post and I hope you don't mind if I disagree. Remember the top reason for doing this is money. You and I do the right thing by the developers and are supporters. Lots of other people probably cannot afford to pay and that is also fine. I love that this is not a pay to win game, I hate those.

I have probably signed up for 20+ sports manager games in Basketball, College Basketball, Soccer, Cricket, Handball, Cycling and Formula One. I don't play any of them anymore. Yet after several years I am still here. In my opinion BB just has a much better product. Maybe the reasons are a bit silly but having game shape issues, injuries, training, cup matches, different enthusiasm, different tactics it forces you to think about every game and make decisions unlike other games where you just run the same lineup and tactics forever. (This was a problem with the LI/M2M dominance and I admit I ran LI/M2M every game for several seasons, the game was VERY slow to fix this problem.)

In my opinion BB is the best online sports management sim. Not comparing it to NBA2k or NBAlive.

So what is the problem? Money. Numbers are down. Therefore advertising revenue is down. Probably also supporter numbers are down. There was a post by a BB explaining that their advertising campaigns had been making a net loss so those people that say they just need to advertise more are possibly incorrect. However I think they could still do well with specific clever targeted advertising but they need a BB that is interested in that sort of thing. BB Marin isn't.

So what is the solution. A second team for supporters. At $40 a year if they get 1,000 more supporters you can see that is $40,000, enough surely to hire another BB from somewhere outside Europe or USA. I really don't know but surely you could hire a young IT graduate from Russia, India, Nigeria etc. Imagine even if we got a skilled computer professional from USA for one day a week for the $40,000 how much development could they do? In fact according to Forbes even in the USA you can get an IT person fairly cheaply.

Desktop Publishers mean annual income: $39,030 Bottom 10% make $21,320

It would be fantastic! Even more potential income is from supporters paying for supporter for their second team.

No-one will stop being a supporter because they don't do this. But more people will become supporters if they do and the existing supporters will spend more.

So the bottom line for me is not how good is this idea but how much benefit will this bring to the game overall which seems to me to be massive.

I object!
I think the second teams just cumbersome, people play more tired.
Now only improved game engine, in order to increase the game fun.
There is no better game engine, there will be no more players, in addition to other changes had little effect.

I have a thought on this. I've read that in some countries they would be worried about becoming dominated by foreign managed teams and that it could turn out that the top league in X-country doesn't have many teams from x-country. On the other hand some countries have so few users that there is no competition and its not that fun. Those countries probably would benefit from the additional teams.

So here's a possible solution. Let each country vote on if they would allow foreign users to participate in their country with second teams.

This is actually a pretty good idea. Of course, you'd have to do the voting before you started developing this, in case it turned out most countries voted against it. If we see that the micronations are actually supportive, that would go a long way.

2. Country restriction: Secondary teams cannot play in the same country nor buy players from the primary team's original country. To make sure some smaller countries aren't overwhelmed by the influx of new foreign teams, a minimum of 50% of the teams in a country will be reserved for local managers. Also, if a country is 90% full – the remaining teams will be reserved for local managers.

Really don't care about second team, or this option, if i cant buy and train players from my original country.
There is already rule that i cant buy players from my primary team, and good thing is that you will put that in the code, so no cheating will come from that side.
Why not just restrict number of foreign players in secondary teams? Maybe put that like 50% of players must be local, or something like that.

5. Scrimmage restriction: No scrimmages are possible between the primary and secondary teams.

Why not? I don't see any valid reason for this. Why not benefit from free training and tactics experiment?
Why i cant get my Barbados flag by playing with myself (no pun intended), i can only get it one time.

I agree with the rest of the restrictions and rules, and can't wait to get my new team, but as i already stated, only if i can buy players from my primary team country.
