Yeah, great. Force me to play against bots most of the time. That's really great competition.

What a knee-jerk reaction...

Compare this to not having the option of 2nd team at all? Btw, country I come from has less than 500 users and you play against bots only in first 2-3 cup rounds.

At least D.I leagues of most of micronations would be filled with either local or foreign managers, so if you are really unlucky and fall into D.II full of bots, you have to wait only one season to advance to a competitive league, while building your arena and training while winning.

I posted aversion of this in the Australian forum as well, so apologies for the repetition.

If back in season 11 or whenever it was i started playing this game, if I found out after 4-5 weeks that, as a new user, I was battling in Div IV against Supporter user's '2nd teams'.... Supporters who also have teams in the top leagues around the world, and have been playing the game for real life years longer than me.....then there is:
a) No way i would buy supporter
and
b) I would probably think "This is shite" and quit the game straight away.....

I remember back when I started, finding out that I was playing against a few teams who had been around for 1-2 seasons more than me, and it made me feel a bit cheated... you know? As in that it was unfair, ... sure it was challanging, but they promoted before me and of course it was because they were more experienced.....but I felt a bit like 'hmmm well that sux' and it questioned why i would play the game at such an unfair level.

So whilst i realise that the argument for having a second team is to retain current user's who have supporter, BB need to think VERY carefully about implications to NEW users as well as future Supporter users.

a) How many current users will quit the game/stop paying supporter, JUST BECAUSE a second team is not allowed?....like really? - Is this really the biggest problem with BB today? ..... For me - this requst for a second team has only been loud and active for a very short period of time, as opposed to other problems which have been around for a long time. Would you seriously not pay supporter because this new idea is not implimented? (Perhaps a poll for this would be logical).

b) How many new Supporters will they NOT get in the future, because new users will quit when they find out they are playing against a Supporters second team? Or even better.... A new user in New Zealand discovers that he is playing against an Australian user! Heavan forbid it would cause greater controversy than a Chappel brothers underarm bowl! (never mind if ur not Kiwi or Aussie... its an 'in-joke').

The argument against point b) is that new users are quitting because they have no other user's in their country to be competitive with.....which is true... Bot competition... but i feel that 2nd teams won't neccassarily solve this... but if this is truly a problem, then perhaps BB need to re-assign them into a different country/group which HAS been suggested many times before....... I believe that would be a much simplier, neater and better result than the suggested 2nd team. Or some other solution along these lines. IF this is actually a real problem.

I feel that BB should analyse statistically, why users are leaving, where they are from, what is stopping them from paying supporter.... hey maybe people just all spend their money on NBA 2k14 and can't afford supporter this year? .... Or maybe, like in Australia, the currency has changed, and now, their supporter package is twice as much (as it will be in Australia fairly shortly! haha)....
Id prefer BB to investigate these potential reasons first as opposed to a knee jerk reaction to a mob-request of a second team....... No offence to everyone who wants this :)

You've missed the point completely
This is not about any of the things you've suggested
it's about money...period.
Money that can be used to help this game bring in more users
Not the 2nd team option brining in or forcing out users.

And to be upset that you join a league only to find that you must go up against those teams that have been around much longer, well...Welcome to the real world of sports.

New teams especially in North American sports, including the NBA pay many millions to do just that.
Expansion teams that hope to someday win a championship

Teams like the Bulls and Heat facing years of success from the Celtics and Lakers

I think one way or another buzzer beater tol and for me it would not be bad to take care of the second team.

What would I find them beautiful would be a second team for those who want it and everyone should suporter play in his own country and only in the worst case! play to another, or to another country and coach NT and U21 should be of their own country.

.....should we develop this feature and how do we do it if we decide to develop it...

1) you should develop it...if people like the idea it will financially support further the game...if no no harm done...

2) Easy...NO new servers, NO new countries (Utopia, or beyond the moon, or Middle Earth....)

make the new feature as it is in real life ...football ( or soccer... for u Americans...) that is :My Team & My Team B
example....Barcelona & Barcelona B

Barcelona B is the club's second official team...

-Both teams CANNOT exist in the same division....EVER. if Barcelona B gets promotted to the above division where Barcelona is, then the runner up of Barcelona B gets the promotion...and Barcelona B remains still.
-Teams are in the same country...whats the fun going to play in different countries with language barriers and so on...you want your team to win against your rivals not go on holidays on exotic locations...
-Transfers between teams are aloud for training purposes....
why should you not be able to train one player the way you want it.Without losing out in the Championship... If when he is ready you can manage his new big salary and you further achieve to prevail and win the transfer...then you deserve to see this player in your team...
-Some people say it will increase the chances people cheating or bidding on players rivals want etc....so what ???? the real world is much much worst...get used to be treated unfair...be strong be the best and dont care about the rest....

This is a good idea and well written.
I think the problems can be solved well with each other with time.
That makes us all just stronger.

Huge “Yes” from me. Sure, there are details to work out, but if a 2nd team comes to fruition, I’ll buy Supporter for that team too. Great to see the discussion of this game we’re all so passionate about.

I think the weighting of the Pros and Cons is not equal. In my simple mind, many of the Pros carry much more value than the Cons. My personal thought on weighting below.

Pros:
1. More revenue for BB [WEIGHTING 10] – ability to advertise more = increasing users = more revenue and an upward cycle begins. And more resources for all of the great developments that Marin and the team work on.

2. Double the fun [WEIGHTING 7] – in theory, everyone who wants a 2nd team could have one with the purchase of Supporter. That’s 30,000 potential beneficiaries. That’s 100% of people that could benefit. In my book, that’s a big benefit.

3. Micronations get a boost in users [WEIGHTING 3] – personally I’m torn between putting 2nd teams in mirconations or Utopia, for all of the reasons already listed. Both ideas have pros/cons.

Cons:
1. Farming Collusion [WEIGHTING 1] – From what I hear, farming already exist (albeit illegally). The reason I give this such a low weighting, is because I think (might be wrong) that it only effects National Teams/U21. I say “just” because, well, there are 30,000 active user teams in the game. And how many national teams are there? 98? Even less that are truly competitive. National teams seem like such a secondary/peripheral part of BB. Granted, this coming from a manager who has never been involved with a National Team. But I think 99% of managers focus on their own team, and not their national team at all. And fine, if all of the national teams want to have a 5-way complex collusion ring to farm their players, go for it, with this legal 2nd team option, it’d be available to all countries, and therefore available to every national team. I’m not saying farming is right, and if there is a way to prevent it, let’s do that. But for me, I sure as heck am using my 2nd team to do more of what I love: playing BB, not farming.

2. Some have suggested this will make cheating (inflated transfer prices) easier [WEIGHTING 1] – Please understand, I despise cheating. DESPISE. This is however an internet game. Some people will find a way to cheat. It happens currently, and there are decent controls in place to catch cheating and ban users. This idea of a 2nd team is being put together with controls in place to also prevent cheating. 2nd teams will be linked to the first. It will be easier to catch cheating because of that link. And if people want to pay for Supporter to cheat… Fine, they pay money to BB, give BB more resources to catch cheaters, more money to develop new features, and then those cheaters are eventually caught and banned. Thanks for the money.
