Dude, if you haven't noticed, this entire thread is a discussion of the system and proposed changes. Chill!

Second Team:
Lokomotive Coma Utopia
Utopia wasn't a mistake
I repeat utopia IS and WAS a SUCCESS

Sorry for this Spam (maybe) .... but I think it may be interesting for this merging- discussion.

Now we had nearly one whole day without one little posting in Utopia .... i think this is very less for more than 900 active managers.

to me its not about how the merge would actually work or more competition, I encourage that. But we have a great community in our " micro nation" and some of us do a lot to keep managers active and in the game. Besides that im a big fan of the national teams , and have been involved in such for years. spending countless hours;) And to see that taken away for what seems to be the same reason utopia was created ( besides making money, fair enough ), makes me wanna spend my time and money elsewhere.

Its just a game, many others to choose from i guess.

In Africa, merging only domestic tournaments in a continental one, as I proposed earlier, could be a 1st step. This change may also be done in South-America and Asia. This would be a good start to add competitiveness and to know if users from different countries get along most of the time, before proceeding further. ;)

Well, thank you for the advice and that wonderfully constructive, on-topic post of your own, Mr. U21 Romania. At least my post wasn't 11 paragraphs of spam, eh?

Speaking of spam, all the me-me-me in this thread is no better. Perhaps Ryan should have made more effort at the start to ask people to be constructive and express at least a bit of thought as to what is good for BB. At any rate, for those who aren't just spouting me-me-me, here are some thoughts.

The best suggestion I have seen has all of the following attributes:

1. Every team retains its national identity and retains its flag.
2. Every country could continue in BBB.
3. Every country would continue to have its own forum.
4. Countries that do not want to merge with each other would not have to do that.
5. Every world would have a full Division 1, 2 and 3 at least, and probably a full Division 4.
6. The competitive and financial advantages and disadvantages of playing in a macro country or a micro country would be completely evened out.
7. Every team could retain its own history.
8. The drafts could continue as they do now, making it easy to put better players in the draft and have it apply to everyone evenly.
9. Private Leagues could become more important to the game as they showcase teams of the same country.

I look at the first six as essential and the last three as desirable. These standards can certainly be met, but not without a reshuffle of existing leagues (NOT a mere merger of countries large or small). Whether Marin and Ryan are prepared for that, or will just nibble around the edges, remains to be seen.
