haha i am prolly wrong :D but i would think you would have to pay salary if your playing in the finals... or maybe be high can tell us when he goes through in 2 :P

from what i read in a BB update ages ago, if you don't play 2 COMPETITIVE matches in a week then you do not have to pay player salaries.
so... based on that if i win in 2, that means i will not have to pay player salaries for the following week where the 3rd final game is placed? that is, if the salaries really do work on a monday-monday system.
might ask one someone on chat sometime.

yeah i am not sure how it works! i assumed the financial side was from Monday to Sunday, so you will play 2 games this week.. bah i can barely get my team to win a game, yet alone have to worry about promotion and paying players and that tripe :D

i think winning in 2 will be better for my team rating and fan ratings etc. as losing is generally frowned upon. :P

I don't know but I think everyone is gonna pay players salaries on the sunday after the finals.

So I'd win the finals in 3 games (that's what I did 2 seasons ago). Can't be afraid of injuries: you play your best line up during the 2 games you wanna win and your scrubs during the one you wanna lose. It makes no difference at all!

Salaries are paid in advance if you play a competitive game during the week.

Which means if you were in auto relegation zone, your last league game was Saturday, and the following Financial update meant you paid no salaries.

After next Saturday, irrespective of whether or not a team is playing the 3rd final, everybody pays salaries as the next competitive game is the following Saturday, the first game of the new season.

To recap... if between your current and next financial update there is a competitive game, you pay salaries.

congrats ranga. i am not surprised you won. you certainly deserve to go up.

if i can think short term where i lost the series it is obviously me not being able to set the lineup vs skyhook and taking the enthusiasm hit right before the game. I can't speak for Ranga but i am assuming that it was probably 12 vs 8 in that SF.
Also tying up into that, the little bit of GS issues that caused for some of my players, which in truth probably hurt more than i thought it would.

alfama (proficient) vs Zakharov (strong)
Davila (proficient) vs Notis (strong)
Whittington (proficient) vs Addison (respectable)
Wall/Ceballos (both proficient) vs Cornelius (respectable)
Clancy (proficient) vs Terroso (strong)

and you look at the game and Addison and Cornelius were flogged with their resp vs prof GS.

but if i am gonna be honest i probably shot myself in the foot in season 16 when i spent alot of money on trying to challenge the top teams when it wasnt really worth it.

but i guess thats just the kind of manager i am. thus i wont be taking the back seat again next season. i will do what PP did and run my team into the ground to try win.

good luck in div 2 ranga. i hope you dont go into full tank as many others have done in the past. we have a reputation to keep up down here.

ps. i think brett owes skyhook an apology because i am pretty sure the financial week is monday - monday.

oh and Leeroy, i didnt quite need that bit of bragging from you about your prediction
