I'm curious as to the answer as well. I've got a hall of famer 18 year old with A+ skills out of the draft, and I'd like to keep him to base my franchise around, but reading a lot of these posts I'm recognizing that he may be too expensive to keep in a couple seasons (I'm on Div. V) unless I promote every season which is highly unlikely. I'm planning on training him like crazy.

It's possible to train your guy in a way to keep your trainee cheap, my u21 guards have been 32-34k at the start of their respective campaigns, around 50k the next.

As long as you train him in a balanced way, you will have around 6/7 seasons to move up before you have to sell, just make sure you expand your arena capacity and invest in a level 5 coach.

It depends on how you want to train your player, an level 7 potential can be maxed out around 23/24.

According to all the research ATG is the same as the peak HOF, but it does have a cap.

By research I mean JosefKa's guy

I think you should be in good shape. SF is one of the best positions to get a highly talented player without an obscene salary. My SF Marrinan, admittedly is close to being capped as a Superstar potential, but he has 106 skill points distributed (not including ST or FT) and should be on a $60k/week salary next year. Which is expensive, but he'd do some serious damage if put in a lower division.

In short, train him right and don't overtrain the high salary areas; for example popping his JS as high as it can go won't make him a great player, but his salary will increase greatly.

Okay so we actually have an ATG hitting his cap in BB. Didn't expect it though. O_O

Its a center that has received 1-position training for the major part of his career. I seriously doubt you can cap a legend doing 2-position training, especially if it is an SF.

Yes, it's possible to exploit his full potential only by 2 position training. In fact it's very easy, for example if You'll train only JS during whole career.
No, it's impossible to exploit his full potential only by 2 position training and if You want to have good SF. Currently the best SFs in this game can't exploit even MVP potential and they are trained on one position by trainers with level 6 or higher.

Do you think it will be possible to fully exploit his potential when i train a 10 potential guy til his 23/24 on 2 position training, and after that on 1 postition and make him a sg/pf instead of a SF?

Yes, it is possible to cap him. Trick works because JS (for SF) is most expensive skill in BB. And if You will train his skills for example similar to:
JS = 40 JR=5
OD=5 HN=5
DV=5 PS=5
IS=5 ID=5
RB=5 SB=5

then he should be capped. His Potential Score will be above 12 (whilst ATG = 11), and salary should be above 600k.
Total Skill Points = 85 so it isn't impossible (in fact I know 18yo player who has TSP = 80).

He will be capped but probably it will be not the best method to create good player and exploit his potential in the best way.

If You want to make him really good player it is impossible to do it only by 2 position trainings. You don't need even to exploit fully MVP potential to create the best SF in game, but You need to train his skills in better way than above. I know fantastic SF who is perennial star.

23-24yo is too late to start all one-position tranings. Two-positions trainings are only JS, DV and RB (3 skills). All other skills (7) can be trained on one position.
