Hello
Here goes my speech for the Canada U21 Team.
I started playing at the beginning of season 6 and had no idea what I was doing and probably only stayed because I kept winning. I ended up drafting a pretty decent player and started to learn how to train players properly and I now would say I have a pretty good idea of how this game works.
My team, Pain Train Pro, has lost in the finals of II.1 in 2 of the past 3 seasons in what could arguably be called one of the toughest divisions in Canada. This year should hopefully be different, but we'll see how it goes.
Although I'm not as active as some of the managers on he forums, I often try to add my two cents when I can. I closely follow the NT and U21 and understand how the two teams need to work together. I've helped scout the past 4 drafts now, helped scouting other teams for the U21 last season, and have tried to post top Canadian players in transfer ad forums whenever I can. I also found a few players that weren't on the scouting radar, Matthew Haines and Julius Skyrzpiniski. I also am the manager of Teo Saint-Arnaud who is Canada's best (only) Power Forward, so I know what it's like to train a U21 and NT player well also trying to build a competitive team. I also have a decent idea of how to throw a 6'8 PF as a point guard and put up decent results.
I've also invited a few teams to the game and have mentored them to help build them into decent teams. I helped the Pokey Stars who started in season 7 and are now in Naismith division. And of course I'd be willing to help mentor any new teams or answer any questions anyone would have. I know I still have questions and try to get them answered whenever I can.
What I will do for the U21 team is simple. I will try to field the most competitive team and get the best result we can get. Even though Canada may not be the strongest team this season, I will do my best to get the most out of the team. My current plan is to offer tactics a few days in advance, a preliminary discussion on what the gameplan is and why and then leave it open to what everyone will say. Then we'll decide where we want to go from there. Finally, if I am elected, I promise there is no chance that I will lose interest as the manager. We could field Canada's worst team yet and I would still be excited to to be the manager.
See you in the debate thread.
