I wouldn't mind having potpourri then maybe my squad won't stink. And no, I don't care what other teams do. Many teams are already using Utopia as a farm team anyway.

It's not backing off more so than the criticism that not building purely for the NT is a mistake. When I was building an NT player my funds were terrible and I couldn't win 3 games a week if my life depended on it. Without highly focused, purely one position training I have finally been able develop a strong overall team that might actually stay in DIII for once and that still brings in money.

Utopia NT? Hope it wont happen.
Hmm, I wonder which continent would be happy to have Utopia in their competition Definitely not Europe, where competition every year is tough and many strong teams do not reach world championship.

Random nationality draftees is a good idea, would be fun if it happens.

Here's a thought
How about if all Utopian players actually immigrated there from other countries
let's say they were all born elsewhere and moved to Utopia when they were young..
So while they won't have a chance to play U21 or NT for their adopted countries
why couldn't they go home and play for the country of their birth
would solve a big problem of local merchandise
and the reason to bother and train these guys when there's really no extra reason

Could even designate players per country on the same percentage bases as there are active teams

try looking lower down the leagues. The players you are referring to are best suited fas part of an organic growth approach that combines training, arena building and winning
