I feel bad for you as I always seem to step on your feet lately. I have a "superteam" which is something I always was pretty much against, but too often have I been in your shoes with a roster strong enough to reach the playoffs but not enough to win anything.

I changed my way of managing and yeah, it really works, but it only relies on brute force.

That being said, I can't sustain this forever, even with the wins, I'll make one or 2 seasons and then I'll have to think of something else because my bank account is getting slowly drained.

Nowadays anyway, I don't think you can still win with a good roster, as one team around will be paying premium to have a fantastic one (I'm spending 1,16 M on wages) and beat you.

You don't have to feel bad, at the end of the day you planned this better than I did and you fully deserve the trophies! And I actually find it quite impressive how well balanced your team is. Looking at wages, it might have seemed like my team (before I sold players) wasn't that far behind yours, and for a time I entertained the illusion that maybe I could do something. But it's more complicated than that, your team is more balanced, with very complete players everywhere, which makes them very cost-effective compared to what they bring to the team.

So I finally accepted that I wouldn't be able to compete with my current players + the cash I had on hand to improve the team. It would've cost me an arm to rebalance the team efficiently and even then I wasn't sure I could do something.

Now Picard is still rather young and I've never had (let alone built) a player like that so I'd really like to bring something home with him at some point. If I can stay in BBBL for say 2-3 seasons close to the salary floor, then I should be able to come back with some nice guys around him...

Yeah, Picard is a fine player to build on. I hope you can set up a good squad around him. I think it's not easy to maintain a BBBL spot while making money. That was an option 30-40 seasons ago, but the level has indeed risen.

I think the only team having successfully been able to do that, is Paros Bulls

They did even better than that, they even won 4 or 5 time the tournament. That was back when Asingratitos was still around ...
