I don't know why exactly, but I really dislike "Naismith League."

I think maybe it feels a bit like stretching for a claim to fame. Why do we as Canadians have to constantly reference Naismith when the topic of Canadian basketball comes up? I just think I would rather the league name be a bit more self-aware and at least mildly humorous, rather than referencing Naismith just because he was Canadian.

In other words, please vote against Naismith league :) I'm practically begging.

I agree with Kingsblade. If we had a cup, we could call it the Naismith Cup, just like the Stanley Cup. However, we call it the NHL and not the Stanley Hockey League.

GWNL 3
Naismith League 4

Of course, until the NHL felt it had to appeal to the lowest common denominator, it had conferences called Campbell and Prince of Wales, and divisions called Patrick, Norris, Adams, and Smythe. All in recognition of the history of the game.

I'll shift my support to the GWNL if and only if the divisions can also be renamed from Big/Great 8 to the Moranis and Thomas divisions (or even the Bob and Doug divisions).
