Let me explain it this way: Because of the soft cap, you can't sell all seats beyond 20k. So let's say for 10 bleachers you build, you can only sell 2. Those 10 bleachers cost $2000, that is the money you invest. You only sell 2 bleachers, so say at price $10, you earn $20 more than you would normally without the investment in the extra seats. Now, after 100 home games you will have earned 100x $20 more, so $2000 more than you would have normally, earning back your investment. After those 100 home games, you will have earned money on your investment. It's slower because normally you earn back investment in the arena in 1,5-2 seasons, but still there is a payoff after some time.

So that was what Manon was saying, if you're in for the long run, you can make money by building beyond the soft cap.

i got max revenue in germany in first division (after the change and not included play off games) with 650k ( only a polish team hit this mark in the past as well ), in second division with round about 420k and in 3rd division with 350k if my brain still works...

Do you remember if those numbers were just after promotion or were you able to sustain those levels? I of course have an arena that is not yet really complete, but I'm pretty fortunate to pull in or 360k so in II and so far this season, my arena attendance has been among the top in our league. I suppose it's time to start trying to save up for another round of expansion.

aight...i promoted last season in division 2 and hit, with the "promotion boost" the 420k mark ( but only once )..

this season, without it, but with a winning streak ( and pr2 dude) my best is around 375?!..think, if all went nearly perfect ( pricing, winning streak, maybe pr ...), u can hit around 390 without promotion bonus

Cheers

I understand that and I agreed to that in my past post. Im just saingy its not a good way or smart way to profit.. I think being under the soft cap by asmall margin is better than being over it by a huge margin..

That is all.

I agree with you in your current situation. At your level, money is better spent elsewhere to make a profit if you already have a large arena. Better to improve your roster and start winning more games and promote than to build over the soft cap. However, for higher leagues and people with money, it's still a profitable investment, just not one with the biggest priority.
